I am so sorry for your loss of sweet Ernie. I too know what it takes caring for a senior yorkie. I basically went through what you and your wife did for about a year and a half - only dealing with kidney disease. Every night waking up the minute my Presley stirred to take him to potty. Blocking off everything to keep him from going somewhere he could injure himself. You just do what you need to do to take care of your baby. No regrets here. He let me know when it was time and I did what he needed me to do even though it broke my heart. You did what you needed to for Ernie...all out of love for him. Presley has been gone 5 months. Not a day goes by where I don't miss him. It will take time I know. But it does get easier. For me...getting another yorkie helped me get through it. I pray that you find comfort in your memories of Ernie. |
Thank you for sharing your story. I cried when I read it because it reminds me to my boy Kenzo who passed away on March 11th. Your story really touches my heart. I believe that your boy is in the rainbow bridge now playing with other dogs. He is waiting for you so you'll meet him again oneday and will never separate with hom anymore. |
Your story brought tears to my eyes. I want to hug your wife (and you!) for your love and patience with Ernie as he aged. That is really true love. I have 2 boys that will be 9 years old this year. They are active, happy, bright eyed, full of life & love! I wish they would NEVER age, but I know that I would do ANYTHING that I need to, to make sure they always feel loved, safe, cared for, clean, fed and anything else I can do. They are sooo worth it! RIP Ernie! You are such a lucky little boy to have the parents you have! (((HUGS))) |
Very sorry for your loss a RIP Ernie |
