Meika is gone, I am beyond devastated
 
My precious Meika passed suddenly this afternoon after an encounter with a toxic Bufo toad.

I am beyond devastated, I am in shock and can't believe that this has happened. I don't know how I will get over this, my heart is broken.

I am so very sad to hear this tragic news. My deepest sympathy to you and yours. Rest in peaceful sleep dear Meika...you are loved and missed. Sandy I'll pray for your strength...I know your heart is broken as is mine.

Oh my God, that's the last thing I wanted to read on yorkietalk. I mean looking at your pictures of Meika was one of the things that really cheered me up when I lost Minnie. Reading about Meika and the way you fought for her was something I looked forward to here. I love reading about someone who loves her pup so much. I have tears in my eyes writing this, because everyone here knows how much Meika means to you. To lose her to a freaking toad! Maddening! Between poor Dixon and now Meika this has been a really lousy couple of days lately. I hate these stupid toads. Cookie bit into her first bufo last month and got pretty sick even with immediate treatment.

I don't even know what to say. I don't know any way to get over that kind of grief other than to talk about it so it isn't bottled up inside.

I wish I could be there to give you a hug and pick up your spirits just a little the same you did for me. I just feel sick to my stomach right now.

Oh Sandy, I am so very, very sorry. How awful. We had all grown to love Meika on YT as you told us about your fight to keep her healthy. I wish I could give you a hug in person right now and cannot even imagine how devastated you must be.

I hope that your wonderful memories of Meika will give you some comfort in the days to come. I would like to think that Buster is right up there at the bridge to run and play with her and neither will have any more pain or suffering.

Oh no! I can't believe it, Sandy! I can't imagine how horrifying this was and is and will be. Poor little precious Meika! All I can do is pray and be here for you anytime you need me or any of us - we are all here and lifting you and your family up to God to get you through this. Right now, just try to make it one hour at a time. I'm hurting and she wasn't even my own baby. I'm so sorry doesn't seem near enough to say but I mean every word of it. I'm just so sorry.

I am soooo very sorry to read of the loss of a precious friend, and for such an unforeseen tragedy. I lost a most loved baby several months ago, I feel your pain. I pray you can get past this very difficult tragedy.

Oh my dear Sandy :(. I am just....so utterly heartbroken for you, my friend. There are no words sufficient here. I can't imagine your heartbreak, shock, sadness, and loss. I am so so so sorry for your tragic and sudden loss. I just can't believe it. Here you were working SO hard to get her healthy and on track, and now this :(.

When you can, please try to focus on the BEAUTIFUL, loving life you gave your precious one...she could not have lived a more loved life, and you gave her that gift. Remember the love you gave her :love:.

OMG no! Oh Sandy, I am so very sorry... this is just unbelievable. I am so sorry... crying for you ... I know there are no words that can truly give you comfort, just know I'll be praying for you. What a shock. The word sorry seems so empty when your heart is breaking and the tears don't stop but I am so very very sorry that this has happened.

I am so very sorry. What a horrible thing to happen. My heart is breaking for you. I can't even imagine how devastating it is to have a frog end your precious baby's life. I can't even find the words to tell you how much my heart is breaking for you. Hugs.
