If there is only one thing I could shout at the top of my lungs, to the entire world: PLEASE!!! PLEASE, PUT BABY GATES UP ACROSS EVERY DOOR THAT LEADS TO AN EXIT OUT OF YOUR RESIDENCE. PLEASE USE EX-PENS TO FENCE OFF AN AREA IN FRONT OF ANY DOOR THAT IS AN EXIT. THESE BABIES DART SOOOOO FAST, AND THEY ARE GONE!!!! PLEASE EVERYBODY!!! THIS COULD BE YOU NEXT TIME.....IT HAPPENS SOOOO FAST........WE HAVE LOST SOOOOOOOO MANY BABIES THIS PAST MONTH......MY HEART BREAKS WITH EACH ONE THAT GOES......I am soooooo sorry for you, and especially little Gizmo..........so sad.......... | I've presented before a very unpopular suggestion of an invisible fence... these babies are so fast... so skillful at escape... it doesn't matter how fast and adept we are at reading their intended times of escape.
I finally installed an invisible fence -- (think Tens machine -- not shock) and I think my guys may live a good many more years.
Yorkies love to be outside... they are ratters...not prissy lap dogs...
My 9 pound Yorkie, Marley, got 'corrected' once at a very low level and will not even approach the flag boundary. My 6 pound Max had to reach level 4, normally reserved for a large, stubborn dog, in order to prevent him from crossng the line.
But my babies are alive... and despite the criticism directed at the containment fences, they WILL keep your babies alive, and should be considered by all yorkie owners with escape artist Yorkies. |
