Oh my, I am so so very sorry for the loss or your little Ty. I can't begin to imagine how you must be feeling. Sending prayers and hugs))) to you both. RIP sweet baby Ty. |
I'm so sorry for your loss. :( You can report this vet to the state veterinary board for investigation. If the board agrees with you, the vet will get a strike against their license (so owners will know there was a problem) and possibly a fine. It sounds like they gave they had premeded with a sedative/tranquilizer. Normal, but I wonder what drug they used. He probably reacted to that (before under the gas (although I wonder if they even use gas there with this kind of buiness going on). They may have just brought him back and then masked him down or something. Completely and totally unacceptable. They should have brought him back and watched or sent him straight to a specialty hospital and they should have recommended that all further procedures be done in a specialty hospital with an anesthesiologist and cardiologist available. I don't buy that they actually thought it was a good idea to go on. Also, if they don't have warming equipment, at a minimum they sure as heck should have hot water bottles there or a SnuggleSafe. Heart failure and electric shock (both of which could apply here) can cause pulmonary edema. Oxygen and drugs should have been given. |
I am so very, very sorry. |
There are no words for how angry I am at this vet for the loss of Ty. I am proud of you for wanting to let other people know what happened with this vet, even when you are still so broken hearted. Sending hugs to you. |
I am so very sorry for the senseless loss of your darling Ty. This was likely avoidable, which I think makes the loss even harder . There is no bringing him back, but I agree that measures should be taken to assure it doesn't happen again. |
I'm so sorry for your loss. Nothing you can do will replace that sweet pup. I'm normally not the litigious type, but that just sounds wrong. I would be irate. |
My deepest sympathy and my prayers for your broken heart. I have lost a dog unexpectedly because something unforseen happened during surgery. I was so distraught that I really didn't understand what the Vet was telling me. I talked to the Vet a few days later and that changed everything. It was not my fault. It was not her fault. It just happened. I honestly hope there is a misunderstanding about this. I find it hard to believe that any Vet would do a dental, if there were any signs that the dog had heart problems. Hugs for you. |
I am so sorry for your loss |
What a tragedy. I can't believe a vet would do something like that either. They would not even give Kayla her Bordatela (sp) shot, when she had a bad episode of CT. They really need to make it up to you even though nothing could replace your baby, but, they need to do something to make it right. Of course that would mean admitting fault, which they are not going to want to do. I am so sorry about little Ty. That just makes me sick. I would check into it and see what could be done because you sure don't want it to happen to someone else. He doesn't sound like he is much of a vet. Bless your heart, I know it hurts so bad. RIP little one. |
If this happened as the OP has now reported twice, including the thoughtless "hindsight" remark, this vet should no longer practice veterinary medicine. When you have no better judgment than to anesthetize a dog that has just had cardiac arrest for an elective procedure, you don't have the necessary mental acumen or discernment skill set to have the lives of people's dear pets under your care and control. |

You have experienced such a great and tragic loss, and in itself is something very difficult to bear. I am truly sorry for the loss of your baby. It never makes sense when you lose a baby so young, but to lose Ty when it could have been prevented makes it so much more difficult to comprehend or bear. I don't think there's any compensation or consolation that will help but I hope someone else can be spared the loss of their loved one that you have experienced because you are reporting this vet. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Please accept my deepest condolences on the loss of your precious Ty. |
I'm so sorry for your loss of Ty. Rest in peace, little one. |
Thanks everyone for your support. I am speaking to the vet Monday morning that owns the business and will try to get some answers. I know nothing will bring Ty back, I am just sick and angry over the way his died. I feel it was needless. This should never happen to anyone. Once again thanks for the support. |
I have spoken to the owner/senior vet. After he spoke to the staff he agreed the vet was wrong in alot of her decisions. I will be reporting her after I get a copy of his chart . |
