I'd like to share something that I collected along the way on one of my doggie forums. I'm not sure who wrote it but I thought it was so wonderful and fitting and it has brought me comfort...
There is only great heartache and grief when there is great love. We have
the terrible misfortune to live beyond the years our 4 legged family members
live--yet in truth there is no such thing as time. It is but tomorrow that
we meet again, and only yesterday that we said goodbye.

How blessed we are to know such great and good souls, and have our lives
enriched by their presence, transformed by their love.

It is with a song in our hearts that we undertake a new relationship with
each creature that comes to us, and in our innocence and joy we blindly open
ourselves to something that will, eventually, turn our hearts to ash. We
purposely forget how the ending will turn out. And because we are so
wonderfully made to seek true love, we patch our broken hearts and sing a
new song for the next being that comes to us, forgetting again the ending
that awaits, in exchange for the unconditional love only a 4 footer can give
us. It is our blessing, and our curse.

I share your grief.....

I believe it’s the love that’s the most powerful emotion of all. I can’t deny the pain, but to have lived without the love of my little girl would have been a far greater loss for me. Thank for your kindness and your very beautiful post. It made me cry a lot, but it also healed my heart.

I am so glad to see you back on YorkieTalk, Mary Kay. Your sweet words about all of my little girls really touched my heart. We had a wonderful life with them, and their love will always touch us deeply. The love you have for your babies is so apparent in every photo you post and every word you write. I know you would agree that these babies impact our lives forever. I truly appreciate what you have written. It helps so much when people understand and care.

Gosh...your beautiful tribute to darling lil' Ashley just brought me to tears!

It's posts like this that make me go home at night and cherish all the days past and those yet to come with my girls...thank you for reminding me of how lucky I am!:love:

Your babies were all beautiful and I can tell from your tribute to them how much they were loved. I know this is a bad day for you and your husband but maybe the beautiful memories will make it alittle easier. I hope they are having fun at the bridge with my three little ones.

Thank you for your kind words about my baby and about the story of Ashley. Our hearts will always be filled with love from Ashley and her baby sisters. Although it still hurts, it's a comforting and very warm feeling to always be able to feel the love from them.

Our babies teach us so much about love, so it's no wonder that they leave us with such a powerful, overflowing love within our hearts. I often can't fully express how I feel, but I know the feeling of love is very beautiful and always a part of me. Thank you so much for your kindness and support.

I am sitting here in tears after reading your beautiful tribute to little Ashley.
She was beautiful. I'm so sorry for your loss.
I lost my precious little Kayla 3 years ago and it seems like yesterday.
Reading your tribute brought back a flood of memories from the day I got her to her last days. My heart still aches and I miss her so very much even after 3 years.
