I am completely devastaded...
My 7 pounds, perfectly healthy and happy yorkie, Kovy, died just yesterday afternoon. We were at the park, and he was running with his friend in the park and from one second to another he was on his side lying down and he was dead already. His little tongue was purple as soon as I got him in my arms and he was already gone.. Just like that. No symptoms, nothing was different than usual.. I sincerely don't understand why he just passed away from one second to the next when he showed nothing wrong at all.
I went to the vet and they said he's gone and they don't know what it is because they don't do autopsies.

I am just wondering if someone could help me make sense of this. I miss him, it happened so fast without any warnings, I don't get it. I want him back, but I can't. I can't describe my pain.

I need support, explainations, stories of people who went through similar things. He was soooo young and so happy.

He was a very nervous yorkie, but he was so pretty and ALWAYS ready to play and to run and to cuddle. He loved us and we loved him with all our hearts.

I am so sorry for your loss. Maybe he had a bad heart, a birth defect that was silient until he was active and running hard? I don't know. It is really hard not kning. I do hope you will find peace in time. Again I am so sorry!

I am so very sorry for your loss and want to offer my support. Unfortunately I have no explanation for his unexpected death. Just know that we are here for you whenever you need us. May Kovy rest in peace and you find inner strength to overcome this sad and untimely loss.

I am so very sorry. A sudden death is so shocking. I have lost Yorkies in a blink and to long chronic diseases. It is horribal to lose them at all, but I think the unexpected death is the hardest. Please take comfort in the fact you were a wonderful doggie parent and that you two were ment to be together. When we only have a child or furbaby for a short time I believe it is a special blessing. Because we can love them so much, we can make every day ,happy for them. Praying for You

didn't read other replies just wanted to respond to you. sorry i obviously unfotunately don't have an explantation. I would want one as well if i was you. just wanted to say how sorry i was for u & your fur baby. i can't imagine your pain. just know it wasn't anything u did or could have prevented. sounds like ur baby passed away happy. good 4 him but no conselation 4 u. again soooo sorry 4 ur loss:(

God Bless you this has got to be devastating to you. One of my dogs I had years ago would pass out if he got excited and would have died several times if I didn't pick him up and revive him. He had congestive heart failure (fluid around his heart) Sorry I don't have any answers, you will be in my prayers.

I am so sorry for the sudden sad loss of your little guy.

I lost my schnauzer girl unexpectedly 3 years ago, and still am nagged by wondering why.

Since you may never have answers, your only comfort will be in remembering the good times you had together. Hopefully one day your heart will again be filled with the joy of loving another little Yorkie. They are such wonderful loving little beings, and bring so much to our lives.

I am so very sorry for your loss. It is hard to make sense of something so sudden. I know your pain, and so do many others here. If you have pictures of Kovy, we'd all love to see him. Sometimes it just helps to talk about him and share your stories.

So sorry about the loss of your little guy. As far as why, the only thing I can offer is that a few years ago, the vet noticed that my Biscuit would get a purple tongue if he was anxious.....I was told that a purple tongue was indicative of heart problems. Again....sorry for your loss.

I'm so sorry to hear of Kovy's passing. I agree with the other person who posted of a probable heart problem. So very sad to lose one so young. RIP little Kovy.

I am so sorry that you lost your dear Kovy so suddenly my heart goes out to you. At least he was happy running and playing outdoors when it occurred and he did not suffer. He will be running and playing on the other side now. But he will stop and his ears will twitch and he will come running to you when it is time for you to join him on the other side. My deepest condolences.

Oh my that just seems so unreal to me, I can not imagine your heartbreak.... I am so very sorry for your loss!

Answers ..( ? )....Unfortunately I think the only way for you to get them will be much too painful for you or anyone for that matter to consider having to go through.

Oh my goodness, I am so very sorry. I can't imagine how devastated you must be. I agree with the other posters. I too think it was his heart. Please, whatever you do, do not blame yourself. It was nothing you did wrong, and nothing you could have done differently. Sometimes we say "what if", and thinking that way will never bring you closure. My dad had a complete physical, and was fine. Just a few days later he passed from a massive heart attack. Sometimes things like this "just happen". Don't let that last, awful memory be your only memory. Your little fur baby gave you three years of pure joy. His life was not defined by his birth date or his death date. It was the dash in between those two dates that defined the pricelss relationship the two of you shared. I pray you find some peace in your heart. Again, I am so sorry. May good memories be a comfort to you.
