May the Angels Carry You on Their Wings
 
This is very hard for me right now, but I also know that there are some of you waiting to know how things are going.... :cry: :cry: I don't bring good news.

Our little girl stopped fighting and we lost this morning about 11:30 am. She started to decline around 10:30 pm last night. She stopped nursing with Maevie, so I continued to do her supplemental feedings until she refused to swallow anymore around 9:30 this morning. Maevie and I stayed with her to the end. Maevie was the pillar of strenght for the puppy and me. She continued to lick the puppies little face then would clean the tears from my face. I know nature has it's way to take the weak and sick This ends her suffering from what ever under laying problem she might have had. I knew we had not won the battle even though she had gained 1/2 ounce and kept the dehydration under control, but we all hope for the best and do what we can for these little ones, to at least give them a chance at life. I had grown attached to this little girl as she struggled to stay alive. This part of breeding has never been easy for me and I am not used to losing them. I know I must go on for the others, as Maevie has and she has returned to the rest of the litter. This little girl has touch my heart so deeply and will remain there always. I just want to send out a special thanks to those that took the time to answer my posts and that kept checking in offering your thoughts and prayers to us.

I am so sorry! I know it can be so frustrating. Why? that is a word that is the only word I have been asking myself for the last few days. I know she is in a better place and will be forever young,,, but I do know how much it can hurt! You are in my thoughts!

The Rainbow Bridge has another perfect cherub. I am so sorry for your loss and for darling Maevie's. How precious of Maevie to lick your face when she was losing her baby girl.

Maevie was very tentive of her little girl and that is why I guess I was living on false hopes. She has spent the last few days with her, except to feed and clean the others. Usually when a little one isn't going to make it the mother's will push them away....Not her she stayed to the end...And offered me comfort as well. I can't say enough on my new found respect of her loving ways... :) :) Maevie is a true blessing.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss I am shure she loved it so much down here this time that she will ask god to come back to you and her mommy in your next litter this time with no discomfort or pain just to feel your love again

I am so sorry, Sue. You and Maevie did your best for your little angel girl. You were very blessed to have her in your life for the short time you did. My tears join yours. :cry8:

I'm so sorry. It did seem that Maevie would be able to bring this little girl around. When I read that news, I thought she would be getting stronger. I don't know if I would have the strength to be a breeder. I know the good outweighs the bad but the bad is so hard to take. You're in my thoughts and prayers.

Sue,

I am so sorry for your and Maevie's loss. But your little one is no longer in any pain, and will be waiting at the Rainbow Bridge. No matter how many babies we have, it is so hard to lose one. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

We have such a great support community here... Thank- you everyone. You just don't know how much this means to me, to have all of you offering your condolence to me and Maevie. Our little lost Angel is buried under a beautiful Oak tree. You are right there is no more suffering for her, and that is the main thing. I know as sweet as she was the Angel's are fighting on who get to have her on their wings.
