Goodbye Kaddie...I'll love you forever
 

First off I want to say that Kaddie wasn't a yorkie, so I hope I'm allowed to post this here. But she was my furbaby, just as much as my precious yorkies are.

A couple of weeks ago she had a seizure which was very frightening. The vet couldn't diagnose epilepsy on the strength of one seizure, so asked me to keep a diary if it happened again so they could decide how/if to medicate. Her blood results were fine, and I was hoping it was just a one off (which the vet said could be a possibility), but that if it's epilepsy it could be quite severe as she had her first seizure so young (8 months old)

This morning, after coming off YT, Kaddie had another seizure in her crate. It lasted for for about a minute, then she was still for a few seconds, then started again. It seemed she was just fitting continuously. I called the emergency vet number and they came straight round. But it was too late. My beautiful girl was gone.

I can barely see for crying. I feel so empty and sick. Twinkle and Wicket know that one of their pack is gone and they don't seem themselves. I just can't believe she's gone...she was just a baby.

Rest in Peace my precious Kaddie. You were in our lives for such a short while, but bought us a million years' worth of joy. You will be missed.

Oh Claire, I'm so terribly sorry for your loss. That first picture says it all. What a sweetheart. She absolutely deserves to be remembered on a Yorkie forum. She obviously loved Yorkies very much.

Your others will remember her as long as you do, but they will adapt. Stick to their routine, and they'll learn that life goes on. May memories of Kaddie bring you peace.

Thank you all for your kind words, thoughts and prayers. I feel so numb....she was one of my babies. My husband is devestated too (Kaddie was a real daddy's girl!).

As Mike said, I'm going to keep Twinkle and Wicket's routine the same as normal (although it's going to be really strange going for our walk without her) Wicket is missing her the most I think....he keeps going to her bed and curling up on it. It's heartbreaking.

Your precious Kaddie is beautiful. So sorry for your losss. I lost 3 pets in one year 2 years ago and I literally felt like part of me died. I understand the pain & am sending you a BIG Virtual Hug! Carry her memories close to you, always.

I normally do not respond to the RIP posts but this one and BaxtersMommy's hit home. We laid 3 furbies to rest in a brief 6 weeks time Jan-Feb 08. I can relate to the loss of one of the fur babies. Their little urns are on the top shelf of the book case. The grief will slowly go away but, the memories will live on in your heart. Many have given good advise. Do not go at it alone, your YT friends will help you through.

It's evening here now and the house feels so empty without Kaddie here. I just miss her so much and my eyes are sore from crying...getting lots of cuddles from Twinkle and Wicket helps a little. I can tell that they're missing her just as much as we are.

Thank you for all your sympathies. If it's possible, I miss her even more today :( I keep catching myself calling her name, and I nearly put food and water down for her this morning.

I know it will get better in time but I just feel so empty :(

We made a donation this afternoon to the RSPCA in Kaddie's memory (I know that sounds a bit silly)....but we hope it will help a dog to be rescued and rehomed with a family who will give him/her a wonderful happy home like Kaddie had xxx

when it is unexpected you have no time to prepare. Such a shock to your entire family. You, your skinkids, DH, Twinkle and Wicket are all emotionally and spiritually shaken. It seems to take longer to recover when it happens this way. Eventually, sometime down the road, recovery will begin. It may be harder on Twinkle and Wicket because they have no context in which to put this event. But, it sounds as if you have a home that is filled with much love and understanding. That is what will get all of you through this, and that is what will help all of you to help Twinkle and Wicket.

Your pictures are lovely and represent what wonderful memories you have. I see some posters on here with such silly complaints, myself included, and a tragedy like this puts it all in perspective, doesn\'t it.

Praying that your healing process begins soon and is complete...

I\'m so sorry to hear about your loss. I too just recently lost my dog who was too young to leave us, not even 2 years old yet. My prayers are with you, and may the happy memories you had help to get you through this.

Oh I remember your first post about this! I\'m so very sorry that she lost her battle! My heart sunk when I read your post! Of course it\'s ok to post of her passing, this is a fourum for yorkies, but most of all we\'re all a "family" of animal lovers that are here to help and support one another!!! RIP sweet Kaddie!!!!!
