This unbelievable painting arrived in the mail this week from YT's snoopy42, aka Joan, a very kind and sensitive person. I can't take my eyes off it. It is Jack at his finest, tiny yet stout, brave beyond description and ruggedly handsome. The artist did an incredible job. I can see the personality and wisdom in his eyes.

For those who may be new to YT, Jack, my 13-year-old rescue, died on Feb. 8 of this year. The outpouring of condolences on YT and elsewhere left me speechless. I knew he was a special little man, but I had no idea how many people from all over the country and all over the world were moved by his courage and adventures. I wrote a few blogs on his passing if anyone is curious how a 4-pound geriatric Yorkie could touch so many lives.

Joan's incredible gift is one of dozens we've received, and as with the rest of them, it is destined for a featured spot in our home.

"Thanks" isn't enough, but it's all I have!

Here's the portrait. It measures 16" x 20".

That painting is unbelievable. It almost looks like a photograph. What an amazingly talented artist.

OMG Mike is all I can say on this painting. It's like Jack is real and you can just reach out and touch him. What an amazing artist to capture Jack as we all knew him.:animal-pa

Happy tears it is! I was a very new member on this forum when Jack passed. It was my first R.I.P. thread I read and I was so touched by the thread and your blogs. I remember sitting at work that day with tears streaming down my face just like they are now. :) I didn't even know your little guy and yet I felt as if it was me losing him...so touched I was by the raw emotions you were feeling and expressing. This picture is amazing! I opened it up and it filled my 17" computer screen. I felt as if I could reach out and pet him. I suspect your precious Jack has touched us all. What a beautiful tribute to pay to him. Thank you once again for sharing.

The portrait is amazing. It captures Jack so well and his eyes look alive and bright. Its beautiful. Just looking at it brings tears to my eyes as i remember what a great little guy jack was. I miss seeing him in videos and pictures.

What a beautiful and fitting tribute to Jack. I know that must have brought tears to your eyes. I did not know we had such an amazing and gracious artist within our midst. How thoughtful of her to do that for you in Jack's memory.

WOW! That is absolutely amazing. It really captures his spirit. It is just so beautiful. Jack touched so many of our lives. I just keep staring at his eyes in that painting. It looks so real.

What an incredible talent--that couldn't be any Yorkie in the world other than your Jack! If I had only seen the painting without seeing your name, Mike, I would have recognized him immediately. Such a bittersweet gift, but one to treasure forever.

Your title is so fitting! Happy Tears is right, I have them right now looking at this!!! She did an awesome job, what a wonderful portrait/tribute to a beautiful, courageous little man, Jack!!!

What a wonderful and beautiful tribute to little Jack...Joan you are so very talented and what a caring thing to do. I remember when Mike got Jack (he didn't even think he looked like a Yorkie...dah) but soon Jack became the love of many people on YT as he tried so hard to stay up with his buddy Eddie. I am so happy that Jack's final years were so happy and he was truely loved...rescue stories are so heartwarming when love can make one little, little dog so happy.

What a wonderful and lasting tribute to Jack. It's difficult to swallow. Supvr's at the workstation across from me and they'd be wondering what's going on at 530am.
