My beloved Chewy passed on today
 

I am so sad. My heart is broken. Chewy was my best friend for almost 11 years. I don't know how I am going to live without her. She's in my every thought. I see her laying in her fave spots. I have to go to sleep now and I hate the thought of doing that without her. Every since I brought her home at 6 weeks, she slept at my head. When she was little, she would share my pillow. As she got bigger, I got a little pillow and put it between my husband and me and that's where she's been sleeping ever since. How will I ever go to sleep again without her warm little body next to mine?
She had acute kidney failure, came on suddenly in the last week. She lost so much weight, she was like a skeleton. Broke my heart. The vet tried a lot of different things, but she's been doing poorly for the last few days. I've had no sleep for the last 3 days, because I was worried she would pass on during the nite. Last nite she had seizures, one after another, crying out in pain. It was horrible. I just kept trying to comfort her, knowing I was going to take her in to the vet this morning to get euthanized. We went as soon as the vet opened, and on the way (we live an hour away) she passed on in my arms, very peacefully. God has His own timing. I am glad it happened that way. So we turned around and had a funeral for her at home. All the other dogs came around (we have 6 rescues, and 1 other yorkie). They all looked at her, sniffed her and said their goodbyes. It was very touching. Our remaining yorkie, Lulu, seemed very sad today She slept a lot today. I can tell she is grieving. She saw Chewy go thru all that pain today.
Well, that's it. I'm grateful for the Rainbow Bridge poem. I will look at it often and that will help. :littleang

I am so sorry. I know this pain. There is an old saying that goes time heals the pain. It doesn't it only numbs it. What a blessed little fur baby to have you all for a family!

I was so sorry for your loss. I went through the same pain not long ago. My cairn was 14. I still miss him but God sent me a precious yorkie for Mothers Day. I know God was there to help you so you didn't have to face taking her to the vet. That is a very hard decision. I know God will comfort you and you will miss her.

I am so sorry for your loss. I know the pain....Take comfort that Chewy is not longer suffering but at rest.

My prayers and thoughts are with you. I have a "Chewy" too, he's an old guy and I dread the inevitable and really feel for you. I think it's absolutely amazing how God took care of your Chewy on your way to the vet (so you didn't have to). I pray that my Chewy will go that way (peacefully & naturally). I thank God everyday for Heaven...so that we can see our lil guys again! I'm so sorry for your loss, but Chewy is very much alive and happy now, thanks to Jesus!

I am so sorry for your loss, I had to put our 10 yr old Lhasa Poo to sleep one year ago today. I still cry.

I am so very sorry for your loss. RIP sweet baby.

So sorry to hear of your loss of Chewy. I know your pain. We had to take our 15 year old yorkie "Baby" to the vet last December. The only thing that helps now is we have new sweet little yorkie baby "Sophie". No other puppy will replace Chewy in your heart but in time perhaps you will have room for another little puppy. I am so sorry for your family's lost. When I was about 22 my family had to have our golden retreiver put to sleep. :(My parent's had three daugher's they always said Max was their son. My mom was so grief stricken she could not be in the room. My dad stayed and held his paw until he was gone.:( I was at work watching the clock wondering was he gone. I totally understand how you feel. Time will heal your heart and you have all of those wonderful memories of chewy :aimeeyorkwho is now an angel watching over you:)
