Lost my Dinkie Hi folks, a month ago, my wife let my 6 lb. female yorkie (Dinkie) out at 2:30 am and before she could get outside after her, a Coyote had her. Dinkie had seen the rabbit the coyote was chasing and got in between them. It looks like she saved thart rabbit's life. I live in Santee,CA ( near El Cajon/San Diego CA) and we have a lerge concentration of those ratty coyotes. I miss my girl like nothing before. I am a retired US Navy Submariner and she was my best friend. I think about her several times each day. I have all intentions of getting another girl Yorkie. They are the most fantastic dogs in the world. I am having a hard time with that huge hole in my heart. Thank you for listening to me, John Scull |

I am so sorry for your loss. Coyotes are also a problem here. We make sure that we are close to Daisy when she goes outside. I am so afraid that one will come out and get her.I also make sure my springer is around too. We have a great horned owl by my home and the eagles are regular visitors. I am so afraid that one of them will think she is a big fat rabbit! The joys of living in the country!! Please take care, you are in all of our prayers. |
I'm so sorry for your loss. |
I am so sorry for your loss. I pray that one day soon, you will find that new little girl who will help ease your pain, and bring joy back into your life. |
John, I am soooo sorry. My Hannah is having a litter; she is on day 57. If all goes well, and you had a way to pick one up, it would do my heart good to know one of my blessings (hopefully), could bring joy to your life. |
So sorry John, I'm truly sorry for your loss. We live in the counrty, and we have alot of open feilds and right now they are hunting deer, and they cry and travel in pack, and howl so loudly. They sound like they are dirrectly out my back door. It will hurt less and less every day. You'll never forget her. Remeber the good times together, and she'll live in your hearts forever. Give your wife a hug from me. I'm sure there was nothing anyone could've done. God Bless, and I hope you find a sweet angel to help you both deal with you loss. |

First off, welcome to YT! I am so sorry for your loss. Good luck in your search for your new baby girl. |
You know, I have had a bit of "ridicule" for breeding my two yorkies. I think people sometimes just say things without really thinking about it. I realize there are people who breed for the wrong reasons. But, I am not one of them. Though I am certainly not a professional breeder, as this will be our first time around the block, I am with my yorkies practically 24/7. I had a person say to me, "I don't know why you are doing that. She (mother yorkie) would miss her babies, and you don't need the money." It really hurt my feelings that someone, especially a person that knew me, would even think I would do such a thing for selfish reasons. I am just glad, as I pointed out to that individual, that my babies' owners didn't feel the same way...otherwise, I wouldn't have them. I hope to keep at least one, maybe two, of the upcoming litter (assuming all goes well). Otherwise, I will find a great home for the rest, possibly selling one or two to re-coop the money I have invested. HOWEVER, I would keep them all before I would even consider giving/selling them to anyone that I wasn't 110% confident of in giving them a loving home. |
By the way, you can see my wonderful furbabies if you go to the thread titled "Hannah on day 54". I love 'em soooooooo very much. |
John, so sorry for your loss, it's a hard thing to loose a baby let alone witness that. My heart break as i couldn't imagine seeing that coyote...I live in FL and we don't have them here, can they be hunted or trapped? Or are they protected? |
I am so very sorry for your loss. Here on Yorkie Talk you will find many many new friends that understand what you are going thru, and also friends who share the same compassion about their pets that you do. Hope you will stay and chat, and let the love others feel for their Yorkies help you remember and reflect on all the good memories you have of Dinkie. I think it will help heal the hole in your heart, and get you ready to move toward finding your next puppy. I stumbled upon this site in April when my Schnauzer Sachi died suddenly and I was searching about grieving the loss of a pet. In May we got our first Yorkie then in August added a Morkie, and they have brought us an unbelievable amount of joy. Warmest Aloha, |
Im so sorry about your lost .. Hope you find another little girl. However have you thought about using Pee Pee pads so they dont have to go outside ind the danger?? good luck my prayer are with you..:) |
John, welcome to YT. I'm sorry you found your way here under such sad and tragic circumstances. But, I'm glad you did find us. You'll find such caring and loving members here to give you all the support you need as you and your wife deal with your loss. Hugs and prayers as you search for a little one to help you through your grief. These little bundles can bring so much love into our hearts. God Bless. Dinkie, sweetie, you have to watch over your Mommy and Daddy, now, so, whenever you get a chance, let them know you are right there beside them by flapping your tiny angel-wing so they can feel the little breeze against their skin. In time, that will make them smile. God Bless. |
I am so sorry for your loss. :( I just can\'t imagine loosing one of your furbabies that way. You have come to the right place.
