| Petco Did Something (help needed) Patchino was not a yorkie but all the same I lost a great puppy. Yes patchino was only a puppy. He was great he was like so active and crazy and he really understood if you were crying he would just look at you like what can i do and jump on you. He was really the sweetest thing. Yesterday around 3 o clock my cousin took him to the vet ( he's my grandmothers dog we take him to the vet and groomers for her) Petco was crowded and Patchino still wasnt being worked on a 5 o clock so he was finished at 7 o clock soo excited to see my cousin lol ( he's usually very frantic during baths) they left like normal and everything was good. My cousin left chino with my grandfather in the house. Chino wasnt himself though after he was to him self and that;s not normal for him or for a puppy for that matter. He was in a corner and my grandfather just thought it was cause my cousin left so he played with him a bit and was on his way. Patchino was left for about 20 - 30 minutes alone my cousin came in and saw patchino at the top of the steps which is normal but this time he had blood coming out of his mouth and was not moving. They rushed him to the vet . it was too late. she said that it had to do with trama . She stated that the only thing out of the ordinary was that chino went to groomers right and thats true chino is always home and able to roam she also stated it could be rat posion which could never be a possiblity. We have spoken to petco and they dont seem very much fased. Im not sure the next step but i do know that something will and must be donoe for this problem. We are probally thinking maybe chino was moving around alot and fell and the effects didnt take place for a while. He later had internal bleeding and the blood then came out through his mouth . Sadly we're missign him more and more i dont know how people are strong enough to get throught it but we must.. And i just want to know what should be done aobut petco what we should take as a next step he was only a puppy and he's been to other groomers this is the first time this has ever occured ( of course) R.I.P PATCHINO 03-23-08 SORRY TO NOT BE POSTING ABOUT A YORKIE ITS JUST IMPORTANT TO ME.

Donating YT 10K Club Member | It doesn't matter what type of puppy or dog...when they pass away the hurt is still the same. I'm so very sorry. I really don't know anything to suggest in regards to Petco, other than you would probably need an autopsy performed to really determine what killed him. Again my deepest condolences on the loss of Patchino. May he RIP and may time heal the hurt. Take care ~

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I am so sorry for your loss. I would ask the vet if they can confirm it was from trauma not a posion and then talk to the Petco Manger or call the corporate office.

| I am so sorry this has happened to you and your family. Autopsy to be sure of the cause of death and just a thought, what about security tapes in petco? Would they have them in the grooming area? I don't know what to say and it's hard for me to tell someone else what to do. Prayers to you and your family. |

| Oh how heartbreaking!! I am so sorry for your loss. And the circumstances surrounding it just seem to make it worse. I agree that an autopsy or clinical findings from your vet would be needed to actually determine if there's a next step to be taken. In the meantime, hugs and prayers for your family to heal!!

| Oh, I am soooo sorry. That is just awful and heartbreaking. I do not trust any groomers for exactly this reason. I am so sorry for the loss of your baby.

| Oh, Honey, we don't care whether your puppy was a Yorkie or not. Everyone on this board loves animals and knows the sorrow experienced when you lose one, especially under the circumstances that this precious pup passed. I hope that you can find out what caused this. I am so sorry for your loss. |

| I am so terribly sorry for your loss. I, too, think an autopsy could help confirm and I would look into the possibility of security tapes at Petco. RIP Patchino.

Our Blessings R Many Donating Member | RIP Patchino, God has you forever in HIS keeping. We are so very sorry about your loss, we know the pain that you are feeling. Like others have said, the only way to maybe know is to have autopsy performed on your little one, this can be very expensive and then the autopsy may not show the cause why this happened. I groom ours and always have since a bad experience, first time I took our Cassie to a private groomers, at the time I was due to pick her up she had been left on the table by herself unattended, the groomer was on a phone talking in another room Cassie had fell off the table and was hanging by her neck, I arrived just at the time this happened to see this, I ran in got her and left, never had anyone groom ours after that. I know there are very nice groomers and I am not saying anything against having someone do the grooming, receiving references to groomers is always beneficial. Just sharing our bad experience and once was enough, I quickly learned to groom our own. If I ever need to let someone do the grooming I will stay and be with ours. Our prayers for you and your grandparents. Hugs, Patti and Jack |

| I am so sorry for your loss!!! I agree with the previous posts that you need to have an autopsy done to prove the cause of death. I am not sure what you can do about Petco because I am sure they will deny anything happening. What a heartbreaking story! My heart goes out to you all! |
