Attila Died Sunday
 
Attila was always sniffing up dust bunnies and hacking. It was just him being him.
Friday I noticed he was inhaling funny like he had sniffed another dust bunny.

Saturday night he was lethargic and breathing more heavily. He is eleven years old, so I didn't think much of it. I though maybe he had caught a cold.

Sunday morning he died. I feel terrible. I feel like I should have rushed him to the vet, but I didn't think he was very sick or sick at all.

I am just guessing that it was treatable, but he went so fast.

Oh how awful. Sorry to hear about your little Attila. Don't beat yourself up over it. What's important is that you loved him and gave him 11 happy years of life! Hugs to you & ur family!

I am sure Attila was very loved and cherished during his long life with you. Always cherish those memories and remember him with lots of love in your heart. Sending prayers to help comfort you thru this time of loss.

Aw, I'm so sorry:( Please don't beat yourself up over woulda coulda shoulda. You had no way of knowing that he was seriously ill and near death, doggies cough all the time. You are in my prayers:hands:

It is so hard losing one. We just never know what all could be wrong. The one we had to have put down in May, I was looking at just the diabetes part and had no idea he had alot of other issues the diabetes had caused. Its hard to know when they are sick sometimes because they can't tell us and sometimes they just don't show any signs until its too late. I am so sorry about your baby. I know how much it hurts. awwww, I am so sorry for your loss. I will say a prayer for you. Hang in there. He is at Rainbow Bridge now .. Running and playing not sick at all.

Poor baby :( ... very sorry :( ... do not feel bad, many times they bounce back on their own from acting a little funny ...

Maybe you can schedule a necropsy with a local vet for more information if you feel so inclined?

Thanks for all the kind messages. It is so hard to see him go. One day he was jumping around the house and then two days later he is gone. It does not seem possible. I had expected him to slow down a bit more before he went.

we are very sad for you.

It is so hard to tell what is going on with the babies. They cannot talk.

I never even considered dust bunnies as a danger. I try to scoop them up with the vacuum as soon as I see them.
I am going to be more vigilant from now on.

Oh honey, I know just how you feel - I lost my 10 year old Evey on Valentine's day and had found out a week before that she was sick and I had absolutely no clue how sick she really was. Time is on our side with the grief and your baby is with God now. My Evey was a bossy little girl and I try to think that she is up there now bossin everybody else around and barking non stop. You just hang in there - when it's their time, its their time and we can't control it. God bless and I will pray for you.

My thoughts are with you - I lost my Zack on Monday. It's so hard to lose a much loved pet I'm trying to console myself with that he's at peace now and I'm imagining him at Rainbow Bridge. Take care.

i am so sorry for your loss, i am sure you gave him the most wonderful 11 years anyone could give him. i only can imagine the pain you are in, i am sorry.
