I lost Evey on Valentine's Day
 
I started a thread about a week ago saying that Evey was sick and I was trying to find out all I could about liver disease. We were getting the money together to take her in for an ultrasound. Wednesday Evey took a turn for the worst. I spent the night cleaning up the blood she was vomiting up among other things. I held her all night telling her I loved her over and over. I got to take her for a long car ride that night and it stopped her shaking, she loved car rides. I took her to our vet the next morning and I stopped her suffering. I still can't believe this. I'm so broken. To make it worse, my husband is out of town and I had to do this all by myself. He loved her very much too and we both cannot believe this. I still have my 3 boys left but she was my best girlfriend. She gave me 10 years of incredible happiness and laughter and a love that I will never forget. She was never sick a day in her life and I had no clue. I will somehow make it throught this. This is my first day at home all day without her. My Rocco keeps looking for her and even with 3 yorkies in the house, it seems deathly quiet with out her.

I'm so sorry you had to let your little girl go. It's so painful and lonely without them.:( But take comfort in knowing you did the best you could for her and you helped her at the end when she needed you.

I had to let my poodle of 17 yrs go last winter and it still hurts and I still look for him some days. But it's not so painful now and the memories are good.

It's nice that your husband loved her too. You will be able to remember her together.:)

I am so very sorry. My heart is hurting for you. Bless your heart having to do this by yourself. I will keep you in my prayers for God to wrap his loving arms around you to comfort you and help you heal.

I am so sorry for the loss of your precious Evey. There are no words that will make things better, but I hope as time passes thoughts of her will bring a smile to your face and your three boys' kisses will make it okay.

ohhh hon, I'm so so sorry. I got a lump in my throat just reading your post. I can't imagine how hard that must have been for you and I'm so sorry you had to do that alone.
Your sweet angel is now looking over you, she is no longer in any pain, she is playing, running, jumping and having a great time with all the other furbabies who we have lost over the years.

Sorry for your loss of Evey. I lost my little one at 8 yrs old, 3 yrs ago. I still miss him and have his pictures all over my house. Remember the good times you had with her. Sending you hugs of comfort and peace.

I'm sorry. We lost our Newman over the summer. Like your girl he was 10 yrs. old. And, much like yourself we have other Yorkies yet it still seemed quiet without him. My girls missed him for weeks and of course we still miss him. We said no more after we lost Newman, but it was just too quiet and without trying our little Lilly found us. She came to us about a month after we lost Newman to cancer. She was 13 weeks old and we got her through a rescue. She's now almost 9 months old. I hope that your heart starts to heal. Again, I'm sorry. It's very hard to let them go but I hope you had peace like I did in knowing that she went peacefully. We made the same hard decision and after desperately trying to save him we too had to let him go and put him to sleep. It's so hard. Elaine

I am so sorry for your loss of little Evey. It is so hard having to make that decision for our "babies" even when we know it will be better for them. I too made that decision last November for our 14 yr old mixed cocker spaniel. Think of her with fond memories of all the good times you had together....time will heal your pain. (((((HUGS)))))

I'm so sorry for your loss. That decision is the hardest one we ever have to make. Just know that Evey needed you to make it for her. Sleep peacefully, precious Baby Girl.

So very sorry :( --- We lost Mogli like that. He was doing great, not a care in the world, then BAM ... 2 weeks before his 7th birthday ... un-recoverable kidney failure.

Be strong, know in your heart that you did everything you could, and that your baby Evey knows too.
