Long time lurker - Moosie died 2/4/08

Our beloved 14 year 9 month old yorkie died Monday night. He was declining over the past 2-3 months, but had recently stabilized and I thought we would have more time. That being said, I am sorry for us (but happy for him...he went his way on his terms). He died peacefully with everyone at home and we found him almost immediately. He was warm and we were all able to hold him and love him.
We got Moosie before we were married and he has lived through births of Katie (12) and Abby (10), the adoption of John (4) and has two furry brothers - Griffin (Yorkie 13) and Crosby (Lab 5). He was (and is) so special. I miss him so much.

He is buried under a dwarf weeping cherry tree that Dad and the kids gave me for Mother's Day 2007. It's right out the kitchen window and very comforting. Thanks for listening.

Oh sweetie, HUGS to you! You seem like such a warm loving family and he was blessed to live his life with you all.

Oh, I have tears in my eyes. What a precious little baby (or maybe old man?) he was in that picture. You can definitely feel the love coming through your words. What a lucky guy he was.

Ohhhh...this made me cry!!! The picture you posted is so sweet!!! I am so sorry for your loss but I am sure you feel better that he went peacefully!!

Here he is "sunbathing" on the deck with his furry brother Griffie about two years ago. It broke my heart when Katie cut off the corner of her baby blanket and placed it in with him before he was buried. He was SO LOVED! Thanks so much to all of you for listening...it's very comforting.

My heart was already broken for your family.... and then I read that Katie cut off the corner of her baby blankie for Moosie to keep with him, and that really got the tears rollin'! He was most loved indeed. :aimeeyork

I am so sorry for your loss. Moosie was a very lucky little guy to have had the forever family he did. He looks so precious. Sleep peacefully little man and watch over your family from your special rock over the Bridge. Big Hugs to Moosie's family.

The way Moosie was curled up on his pillow reminded me of my 13 yr. old female Yorkie, Rosie. Time flies too fast. May Moosie RIP and you find strength to face each coming day.:angelyork

Thoughts and prayers will go out for you and the family. I know exactly what your going thru. My 16 year old Chihuahua had a stroke and passed away this past September. She is also burried in the back yard under her favorite tree.

I am so terribly sorry! As I was reading, I thought how wonderful that your handsome Moosie lived such a long happy life. He shared in so many of the important moments ... your marriage, the birth of your children and I\'m sure that he was loved so very much. I pray that all the happy memories will soon make your hearts joyful again.

Sweet Moosie is with my beloved Sophie; she was 13 last year and crossed the bridge in January 2007. May he snuggle up close to Sophie and all of the other pups as the night time approaches. Bless you and your family. Warmly, Deborah
