I am really interested in a local yorkie playdate but don't know how to go about it...any ideas?
:rolleyes: Just saw your post, Sarah! Patrick and I went to the Farmer's Market last Thursday. We went too early, I suppose ... I thought I would have a heat stroke!! We decided to stop off for dinner at Napal ... the food was wonderful! It was so nice and cool in the restaurant and by the time we finished, it had cooled off some outside. I was thankful that we decided to leave Toto home because of the heat. Next time we go, we will go later in the day and perhaps it won't be so hot. We saw lots of neat dogs but only one that looked like a Yorkie. I told Trish that you lived in Clifton and she agrees, we should all try to have a playdate! :)

anybody interested in coming to a Yorkie Playdate in Denver on August 2nd. I belong to the Denver Yorkies group and we try to have play dates at least once a month. The next play date sounds like a lot of fun and I want to share with all of you. Some of you may already be in the group. Check this web site out. It is where the play date is going to be next and if your interested, check out the 2nd web site and join the group. We are growing quite fast and the more the merrier.

I was hoping to find more from the Denver Area or to be more specific, Stonegate and Parker.
We've had our Baxter since January this year, he's now just about to turn 10 months old. I really thought that there would be more Yorkies around but I really haven't seen many. I know it's hard to find a good groomer for them so I guess that's why I can't seem to find one, not that many Yorkies!!
Hope everyone has a great day and we're able to cross paths someday. I know my Baxter would probably like to see what another Yorkie looks like.:eek:

You'll have to bring Baxter to the Denver Yorkie group. We try to meet around 0nce a month. We just met yesterday. I think we are going to try to get a group together at the "WagonTrail Walk" for the Dumb Friends League in Castle Rock in September. You can go to the website I posted earlier and check it out. I am sure it will get posted soon.

Hope to meet you and Baxter soon!!

New to YT, New to Yorkies
 
Hi! I just got my first Yorkie about a month ago. I've had tiny little poodle babies since I was a kid, and I finally mustered up the money to get myself a little dorky yorkie after college. He is the light in my life. I love him so much! I am in the Arvada/Golden area. I would love to meet some people in the same area. I want him to have some good buddies he can have a great time with!

Hey DorkyYorkie, I'm close by in the Westminster/Arvada area with 3 little punks that could always use some new friends :) Did you see the message earlier in the thread about DenverYorkies.com? They just had a Halloween Party yesterday and are going to be having a Christmas Party sometime in December.

My apologies! I just checked back now! I would love to get together. I requested information for the Denver Yorkies (haha, it sounds like a baseball team!) but I never sent them back my info. I will try to do that today. Where do you live? I live off 88th and Wads but am in the Golden/Arvada area all the time!

Hi, Lacie and "Grandpa & Grandma" live in the mountains around Pine. We see Yorkies every once in awhile, but because they are so small, and there are all kinds of wild animals around, such as Fox, Coyotes, Mountain Lions, Hawks, they are a inside dog only, except when on leash. That is probably why you don't see a lot. Mountain people seem to have big dogs. This little dog has stollen our hearts, and in our retirement days, is such a joy and wonderful company. Sorry, I can't figure out how to add a picture of Lacie. Grandma

Hi and Welcome! We are in Grand Junction and are "transplants"! :) We have been here for several years although we do have a home in Alabama. If the kids and grandkids were here, we would never leave. It is so beautiful! Our Toto will be 6 in July and she is our joy also. She pretty much owns us. Hope you enjoy it here. I don't know how to explain how to add pictures but we have lots of people here who will help!

We are in Colorado, too (SE Denver). Actually, we have been to a playdate a few years back (I think it was in 2005) and it was great to meet everybody in person and play with all our Yorkies, too. That was the first play date in Denver area as far as I know. It's great to see there are a lot more of us locally now. It would be fun to do it again sometime soon.

i have a 5 month Morkie I think. she looks more like a Yorkie. She losing her puppy hair and has the a face of a Yorkie i think the pet store at Park Meadows made a mistake. never buy a pet from there. I learned the hard way. Gigio had Pravo, upper respirator infection and coccidia so bad that she couldn't maintain she protein levels or sugars. she was in and out of the hospital for about 3 weeks. Gigio now playing eating and chewing like a normal puppy. I'm really enjoying her. she is so cute.
i'm loving this forum. love all the pictures and information.

might be relocating to South Denver area
 
We may be in Littleton. castle rock, centennial, greenwood village area. not sure til we get out there and house hunt.
I have a 1 yr old yorkie and 6 yr old maltese who are used to daily 60-90 min playtime with 5 other yorkies. IT will be hard to give THAT up!
we meet in a soccer field and the dogs have the place to themselves and love to romp and play.
