I'm in Longmont, just moved here last year. If you're in the Denver area, there's actually a whole club of Yorkie owners that get together all the time from the Denver area. I came across it looking for a site like this one. To be honest, I love this site, but if you want other Yorkies to play with, they're out there. Just last week I saw a guy walking a yorkie out by the bank here in Longmont. Otherwise, when I get my Yorkie, maybe we can start setting up Yorkie Talk play dates? Safiyah |

Oh, wonderful! It's set then, as soon as I get my puppy, I'll let you know and we can set up a toy dogs play date, with small dogs, maybe we can get more people from Yorkie Talk to go. It sounds like such fun! I'm looking forward to meeting Rusty! Safiyah |
Yorkie needs help Yorkie Rescue Colorado faces a dilemma. We were contacted yesterday and asked to take in a year and half old male yorkie who had his leg broken Thanksgiving Day. His family cannot afford to have his leg repaired. The vet has given us an approximate price of $3,000 to repair his leg. Seeing that the break happened a week ago it is a more difficult surgery. What's the dilemma? We don't have $3,000 to fix this little boy. If we don't take him the owner is going to have him put down because the dog is in such pain. It breaks my heart to have to turn him away, knowing that the only thing preventing him from having a long happy life is money! And people get angry when we ask a re-homing fee for the dogs we do make well. Little ones such as Reese are the reason. Happy Holidays.............Trish Yorkie Rescue Colorado |
Help for yorkie Trish: I would be more than happy to help with a fundraiser!? Maybe we can get together at Petco or Petsmart, or maybe somewhere in the mall and try to raise money? I could bring Tucker and you could bring some of yours and I'm just sure people would stop at least to pet the yorksters. That would give us a chance to tell the puppy's story and ask for donations. I don't think many people could say no. What do you think??? We should at least try:) |

Do you still have club info? Madi needs to find other little friends! ALSO-- I'm wondering if any one in the Longmont area has ever boarded their Yorkie. I'm going to see my sis in California and this is first year I'm not taking her with me :( I'm so scared to leave her...I hear horror stories and could not bear to see her hurt...or worse...run away! I have reservations to leave her with Pat Driscal (sp?) I think her company is called Bed and Biscuit in Erie... I have good things about her, but still scared.  |

We live in Colorado Springs! We just got our shorkie a few days ago - rescued from someone my DH works with. Amy is a good girl and would love a playmate. :) She's 6 months old. Missy |
Fuzzywug, did you hear about little Reese? A Gal from the Denver Yorkie club took him in until he gets better. I think that they managed to raise enough money to pay for his surgury and he is doing great. The family got to see him on Sat at the holiday party. I wish I could have gone to see him and his family, but I was out of town :( It really warms my heart to see how people can come together this time of year and help out. :p |

There is a Denver Yorkie group that gets together about once a month or so. Go to Welcome to Denver Yorkies and you can request to join. This group is only for meet-up's and is not really a forum like Yorkie Talk. What's nice is you can get set up for automatic emails that will let you know of upcoming meet ups. (c: JoRae |
My husband and I are moving to Denver in August! We will be attending the University of Denver for graduate school in mathematics. I'm going to join the Denver group. We're really excited to move!.. well, nervous at the same time. I still cannot imagine being so far from a beach and having this white stuff called snow fall from the sky... |

We are here in western colorado! I know this is a rather old thread, but I just wanted to say that we live in Clifton Colorado which is RIGHT next to Grand Junction. I have seen a lot of yorkies lately, mostly teapots. We have a thursday evening farmer's market here in in downtown GJ every week and tonight I saw almost 10 yorkies. They are very popular here, although I think most of them come from 2 different people, "Suzoos yorkies" and "the yorkie ranch". I think they are both brokers, but only know for certain that the yorkie ranch is. I must say that every one that I have seen has been beautiful. If anyone out there wants to get together for a local yorkie playgroup I would be thrilled, so please let me know. Thanks, Sarah and little Alastor:aimeeyork |

We are in GJ ... a Yorkie playdate would be fun! I didn't know about the farmer's market ... can Yorkies go?? |
gj farmers market Dogs are always welcome at the farmers market as long as they get along with others. I was Tucker and his person April (Aquinn) there a few weeks ago which was neat. I don't usually have Alastor walk because he is so small he may get stepped on and have had a big problem with people just grabbing him and picking him up without asking. The farmers market here is just a social gathering where one can buy produce, local art, and just walk around. There are usually jugglers, belly dancers, and musicians there as well. Its just a nice excuse to get out of the house, do something free, and to do something with Alastor. I'm the one there with the small yorkie (who is usually in his orange stroller), and the 3 kids. Perhaps we will run into you there.:) I am really interested in a local yorkie playdate but don't know how to go about it...any ideas? |
i have a friend in CO and she has a yorkie she lives in Aurora message me with your email address and I will give it to her maybe you guys can meet at a dog park or something |
