I'm in Longmont, just moved here last year. If you're in the Denver area, there's actually a whole club of Yorkie owners that get together all the time from the Denver area. I came across it looking for a site like this one. To be honest, I love this site, but if you want other Yorkies to play with, they're out there. Just last week I saw a guy walking a yorkie out by the bank here in Longmont. Otherwise, when I get my Yorkie, maybe we can start setting up Yorkie Talk play dates? Safiyah |

Oh, wonderful! It's set then, as soon as I get my puppy, I'll let you know and we can set up a toy dogs play date, with small dogs, maybe we can get more people from Yorkie Talk to go. It sounds like such fun! I'm looking forward to meeting Rusty! Safiyah |
Yorkie needs help Yorkie Rescue Colorado faces a dilemma. We were contacted yesterday and asked to take in a year and half old male yorkie who had his leg broken Thanksgiving Day. His family cannot afford to have his leg repaired. The vet has given us an approximate price of $3,000 to repair his leg. Seeing that the break happened a week ago it is a more difficult surgery. What's the dilemma? We don't have $3,000 to fix this little boy. If we don't take him the owner is going to have him put down because the dog is in such pain. It breaks my heart to have to turn him away, knowing that the only thing preventing him from having a long happy life is money! And people get angry when we ask a re-homing fee for the dogs we do make well. Little ones such as Reese are the reason. Happy Holidays.............Trish Yorkie Rescue Colorado |
Help for yorkie Trish: I would be more than happy to help with a fundraiser!? Maybe we can get together at Petco or Petsmart, or maybe somewhere in the mall and try to raise money? I could bring Tucker and you could bring some of yours and I'm just sure people would stop at least to pet the yorksters. That would give us a chance to tell the puppy's story and ask for donations. I don't think many people could say no. What do you think??? We should at least try:) |

Do you still have club info? Madi needs to find other little friends! ALSO-- I'm wondering if any one in the Longmont area has ever boarded their Yorkie. I'm going to see my sis in California and this is first year I'm not taking her with me :( I'm so scared to leave her...I hear horror stories and could not bear to see her hurt...or worse...run away! I have reservations to leave her with Pat Driscal (sp?) I think her company is called Bed and Biscuit in Erie... I have good things about her, but still scared.  |

We live in Colorado Springs! We just got our shorkie a few days ago - rescued from someone my DH works with. Amy is a good girl and would love a playmate. :) She's 6 months old. Missy |
Fuzzywug, did you hear about little Reese? A Gal from the Denver Yorkie club took him in until he gets better. I think that they managed to raise enough money to pay for his surgury and he is doing great. The family got to see him on Sat at the holiday party. I wish I could have gone to see him and his family, but I was out of town :( It really warms my heart to see how people can come together this time of year and help out. :p |
