Hello. I'm fairly new on the site and have only posted one time here before. I saw that there are many of you close to Branson. I grew up in Berryville, AR...so I'm very familiar with many of the locations mentioned previously. We have lived in Branson for many years. We just recently (1 1/2 wk ago) received Ozzie -- our yorktese. Ozzie and the whole fam is excited about getting to know you all better as time goes along. :)

I live in Highlandville which is about 15 minutes from Springfield and Branson. Have two Yorkies, KoKo and Kandi who are expecting their babies (KoKo is the Daddy) in about 4 days, our csection is scheduled for this Thursday as she is a teenie baby. I would luvvvv to hear back from someone close or just in the area, I have AIM with the same name as here.

Hi, I don't know if you read my post below. I wanted to know if you were in or near Fairfax, Mo. I live in NJ and purchased a tiny tot (who died on 12/21/05) from a breeder in Missouri and I desperately need the assistance of someone who lives near this breeder.

May I ask what happened? Have you talked to the breeder? How old was your baby? If your baby was young, the breeder needs to know about it and may offer a replacement if the vet will verify that it was genetic. Sylvia

Hi, I posted my story in the RIP forum. Basically, the baby started seizuring and practically died in my arms. I gave her nutrical, mouth-to-mouth and nothing. She was DOA when I arrived at the emergency hospital. The breeder was on the phone with me the entire time, and event sent me a beautiful plant expressing her condolences. At this point, I am awaiting the results of the necropsy, which were due (preliminary/verbal) on Friday, but I suppose that because of the holidays, I haven't heard anything yet. As you can imagine, I am on pins and needles waiting for the results. I got the dog from AmazingYorkies.com.

Oh, also, the baby was 15 weeks old. I had only had her 10 days before she died. :cry:

Hello just wanted to let everyone know that we have babies!! Kandi had four baby boys yesterday afternoon. Mother and babies are all doing very well and things went great, no problems at all. I am trying to decide which one to keep, they are all very sweet and healthy, it's hard to think of letting any of them go!!! I don't even know where to start, does anyone have a clue how I should go about pricing these? Should I take deposits? What is the normal charge? I want to keep them all but no room!!!! Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks

The breeder said she was very sorry about my loss. She sent me a big beautiful plant with a card that said "God bless you and your family during your time of sorrow." She has called a few times to see how I have been doing and she said I could call her anytime day or night if I wanted to talk. Tinkerbell was 1 lb. 2 oz, she was tiny. I hadnt brought her to the vet yet because I only had her 10 days and the breeder told me to wait a week or two before I had her examined to give her time to adjust to our home and get over her flight stress. I actually had an appointment scheduled for the day after she died. My daughter told me yesterday she overheard my husband talking with the breeder. He had actually taken the initiative to call her (unbeknownst to me) to tell her that I was distraught and ask her what she was going to do about replacing Tinkerbell. I asked my husband about it this morning and he said the breeder told him she had another baby female that was 6 weeks old and would not be ready for another two months. She didn't mention anything about price or whether or not she would be a replacement. So at this time, I don't know if she is going to request additional money or what. I don't believe so, but I'm not sure. She does have a lifetime guarantee if there are any congenital defects, but I don't know what she will say if the necropsy shows that the cause of death was low sugar or something else that was caused at my home.

Mia, I just feel so bad for you! I think this breeder owes you big time..I think she should give you another puppy. I'm sure you paid a bunch for her. I hope I'm not coming across like a witch??!!?? I just feel so bad for you and I really think this breeder needs to help you out here. When will you be getting the results on her tests?? This could not be caused by you. Don't even think that. I'm sure you did everything right for her, it was just one of those things.. Maybe you should think about getting a bigger baby. Maybe one that weights closer to 2lbs at 12-15 weeks.

My husband said the breeder called yesterday to ask how I was doing. She told him she had two little girls that would be ready to go in 5 weeks. That was good news, I just feel so empty without Tinkerbell. She can't be replaced. I know my husband is trying to help me through this, but it's so hard. Yes, I did pay a fortune. I called the vet yesterday and was told to call back today after 12 and speak with a team leader to see if the verbal results of the necropsy had been called in. Thanks for your kind words. I will keep you posted.

How big is the dad? Do you know how big the grandparents were? We need this to calculate how big the puppies might get as to what the price should be. I will tell you this, price is no guarantee as to the quality of life these babies will have. Some will tell you not to lower your prices but I will say that if your prices are high enough, those who can't afford the vet bills will back away.

I have 4 babies right now. I will be keeping one female and she is turning out to be a real beauty! I didn't choose her for her looks when I chose her. She and her brother are going on 9 weeks while the other 2, both girls, are going on 10 weeks. If I hadn't chosen her for her loving attention, I wouldn't have been able to choose this early which one to keep. I am saying that it's too soon to choose one, you will change your mind when the personalities start to develop. I will make a suggestion if you haven't thot of it already yourself. When you do chose one, put a ferret collar or harness on him. They change so rapidly when their hair starts to grow that you may quickly loose track of the one you wanted to keep. Sylvia
