That's exactly what I was thinking, but I thought if we shared the ideas that were in the planning for the Michigan party that would give other states inspiration or the format for planning one everywhere. Also, If there are sponsors that wanted to help in one state they may also help in another knowing that YT is a reputable site. Just thinking for everyone, because I know I wouldn't know the first thing about planning a Doggy party :) |

Ok so I have a creative idea, you two carpool together. If mapquest says 4 hours, that means 3 at the new speed limits, I drove 14 to New York for one:p , Aside from the fact that my G'ma is there & I went to see her too:D BUT if you guys car-pooled, that means 1.5 hours driving each:eek: piece of cake. The ideas were just a combination of LuvMySissy, DaisySis and mine. DaisySis suggested I host the Christmas get together because the Michigan group stops meeting after November until Spring, I agreed, she picked the date, Jodie picked the time I think. It happened kind of fast but once caught up in the excitement plans started coming together quickly. I just thought of the same way we used to give kid parties, and walaa, plans started being made. Jodie's nephew is the photographer putting together a great package fr all those interested, DaisySis suggested the Yorkie Gift exchange I think, and Jodie recommended the ornament exchange, we have no sponsors, I decided to pay for gifts to do door prizes(mainly because it is Christmas) and the party favors I am making. The meal is a combo of potluck and once we know what we are missing, I am ordering from a place one of my patients family members own at a discount. Other then that I called the local paper to see if they would feature it in the news paper. |
Hey Jodie, I didn;t mean to ditto you and saw your post after I wrote mine:p BUT I didn;t go hog wild! I went YORKIE WILD!!:D |

Hello Everyone, SOON the pictures taken will be on the site (all 3 sites) I want to thank everyone for coming, I enjoyed myself so much and I hope everyone did too. Thanks to our "auctioneer" we all had a fun time. Jodie has been behind the scene since the beginning and never ran out of energy (or IF she did, she forgot to tell me )I want to personally thank Jodie for doing so much to make this party a success. I also want to thank everyone for coming and for participating in the parade on behalf of my Seniors, my phone has not stopped ringing! We did not see all of them watching us, but they were seeing, watching and enjoying us. The joy and fun in a Senior's life can be very rare and I thank you for bringing sunshine into their cold dreary day. I know they will be taking about us during their social hour in the buildings for a long time to come. Many of my Seniors forget their social skills and can not remember how to participate in conversation, well, I will say this will not be the case this year. I am absolutely certain we will be the topic of their Christmas conversation at their families dinner tables this year! For those of you who could not come, Please mark your calendars for next year. This WAS our 1st ANNUAL Yorkie Christmas Party, with hopes of many more to come. Good night 3:30AM |
