Is Bennie a MORKIE or YORKIE ???? 3 Attachment(s) Hey guys, we purchased a dog from a private breeder, no paperwork of course and we are debating if he is full yorkie or mix with maltese... can you guys give me your opinion? |
Did this woman breed both breeds? I'm asking because my sister used to breed morkies, and it looks a lot like the ones she used to breed... |

3 Attachment(s) My puppy is a Morkie, I'll attach some pics. He has white toes on his back legs and a little white in the chest. People swear he looks purebred besides his white patches. Does your puppy have any white markings? Even if so, he's gorgeous and you'll love him no matter what. |
1 Attachment(s) He looks a little like my Sammie. We have wondered about Sammie being a full-blooded yorkie, but were assured by the breeder that she is. She is registered, though. We have considered DNA testing to see if she is full-blooded, but it's really not important. We just love her to pieces! |

I'm no expert either, but he looks like he might have Maltese in him. The reason I think so is the white around his mouth. I have a Maltese/Yorkie and he looks like Bitsy's litter mates when they were 8 weeks old. Whatever he is though, he sure is a CUTIE! |
crap he is a morkie? i dont want him anymore... jk. the woman claimed that both his parents were yorkie, but by the pictures, he looks more morkie than yorkie, only because he isn't as black/brown like puppy yorkies.. bennie does have white on his chest and at the end of his legs. bennie does look awfully similar to sgtpeppersmommy's pup. bdbmamaw, bennie has the same color hair as your dog though... my girlfriend and i have been debating for the longest time now and we still don't know.... keep this thread going if you can, any more opinions greatly appreciated! |

he looks like a yorkie to me. There are some babies that have very curly puppy coats. I have had a few. Also, don't worry about the white markings. Every puppy I have ever had (four litters) have always had white patches on their chests and two or three have had white toes. All my dogs are from championship bloodlines so I know beyond a shadow of a doubt they are purebred. That all turns to gold eventually. Then you have a bueatuiful puppy. |

Looks like a yorkie to me!! Lots of yorkie puppies have white on them at the beginning but it turns colour eventually...does the breeder have Maltese also?? Dawn |

I looked at morkies before finding elphaba and he doesn't look like any of the morkies I saw...but most of them had different coloring. Either way..he's adorable! |
puppy If you paid about 1/2 the price then for a purebred, I wouldn't be concerned..the breeder gave no papers, have two breeds, he could be a mix.. Most Morkies tend to have lighter markings..and why did the breeder not give you papers if the litter was purebred..? Are the parents registered, if not it is all a crap shoot... of course that can go for many breeders ethics.. |
well if i told you how much i bought him for you guys may be a bit astounished.. i paid 450 for him, which was a steal... found some random ad on craigslist... when we went to pick him up, i saw the father and she only showed me pics of the mother.. im guessing only time will tell what he is as he gets older... thanks for all the compliments about him everyone! ill post more pics of the silly dog later |
3 Attachment(s) OMG he is adorable, he looks like he could be a morkie than again could be yorkie, but Sammie looks just like my peanut when he was little....here is a pic of peanut, he is almost 11 years old so he isn't a puppy:rolleyes: :D morkies are different all the time, in all this time I have only seen a few like peanut...Ashley 809 has a morkie that looks like him too. I have her pic, so the third one is her...:D |
