Would I be bad Would it be bad to put Penny for sale in my local paper if I can't sell her on YT? What kind of questions would you ask a prospective owner? |
I am guessing that one family didn't work out? |
No it didn't work out, and now Pipers sick. |

Whats wrong with Piper? as you know I would of loved to have her for my mom. But Im broke and just cant aford to get her right now. I hope and pray she finds a good home, I think about her every day. |
Just my opinion, but I personally wouldn't. |
I don't think you would be a bad person for putting an add in the paper. Have you thought of placing her photo at your Vet's and try to sell her? If it where me I would write down all her good traits as well as bad and would interview all want to be buyers. Making sure they know these type dogs are lap dogs and not yard dogs. At least that is the way I feel about mine. I pray she finds a good home.:) |
I do not think it would be a bad thing. There are a lot of good people out there that could give her the attention that she needs. There is a good chance they do not even know about YT. Like others suggested....Question them and go with your instinct and Penny's. Tell them about YT also.... I mean...Look at Lewis. He is not with YT and look at how good he has taken care of Maddie and now Sasha....I think you just need to follow your instinct. Joyce |
I have only listed one puppy in the paper EVER but I asked people that called the same questions that I have on my puppy application on my website. Turned down a few flakes and ended up selling him to people that own one of the huge race horse farms here locally. |
I have a boy and have looked in the paper for a little girl. I am a responsible owner. I would interview by phone and also interview in person to see what their situation is like. Good luck. |
Why are you selling Penny? |
I would rather put a ad in the paper in my local paper then to place an ad on the internet. just because one screens a person you never meet does not mean that they are being truthful. I would rather have the person meet at my home and willing to let me see their home and let my dog see how they act with each other then to not meet a person and go by their word alone. I just wouldnt couldnt do it with out meeting them. atleast by a local ad you would get to know the person and see how your dogs get along with them. |
We bought our Yorkie from an ad in the paper, and we are great Yorkie owners. Just ask our kids. They think we treat Sophie better than we treated them when they were little.:D |
I recently helped my sister sell her male chi by placing an ad in the paper. We did get some pretty flaky people who responded, most only wanting to know if he can breed (which we DID NOT want) but we ended up finding him a wonderful home with a lady who helps run a pug rescue. He is now very spoiled and we get frequent picture updates. So, there are great people out there who can be found through ads in the paper. |

If you run a local ad, they can come and see you and you can bring the puppy to them after you check references. It really could be the best way to get her a new home. |
Awe, I am soo sorry. Hopefully Piper will get better ASAP!! |
Go to a groomer..usually she will know if someone is looking and if they have dogs / cats ..or she can spread the word for you. she can tell if they are well aken care. That is how I found Daisy a new home. A family with a netured male yorkie very well care for. and she is right down the road I can see her play. |

ditto??? why??? |
Personally I wouldn't put an ad in the paper if I were you. With our last litter we decided to try it for the first time and I wasn't impressed at all. The ad was pretty expensive to start off with and the few people that did call weren't the kind of people I'd want to sell my babies to anyways. Just my experience, but none of them knew the first thing about yorkies- just wanted any dog and one wanted to give it as a gift (to someone who didn't mention anything about getting a dog little lone a yorkie!). Word of mouth and vets office is probably best bet. And if you can't sell her on here, I also used local.com which didn't seem too bad. Whoever you do end up selling to I'd recommend first time they come over to see her and you meet them and then they come a separate time to pick her up. Good luck! |

Penny needs all the attention in the house and with the others I have I can't give her all the attention she needs. I'd like to see her as an only dog where she could get all the attention she wants and needs. Sorry I didn't answer sooner, but I have another thread about it. |

Not bad, but I would be cautious that she does not wind up at a puppy mill, which is most likely going to be her new home. BE CAREFUL. Where do you live? I have a friend in new york who desperately wants a puppy for his wife and he still has not found one. |
Wait, did I miss something? she isnt a new puppy? |
