1 Attachment(s) I know this has nothing to do with a Yorkie coat, but this is a pic of my baby Lucy with one green and one blue eye. I just thought it was kinda weird to see the two in one. Linus is in the pic too though. |

Yeah, I bet it is just because of the dogs head angle and the flash. Pretty weird though to see both colors. I have heard somewhere- that when an animal's eyes look green in photos- it means something. Don't ask me what because I can't remember  . I do remember that it was something good though :D . One of those old wive's tales. Something to do with the dog's soul or personality. Don't know what it means when one is blue and the other is green  . I bet something really good! ;) |
Lily is just now turing 5 months old and I can't even see blue. Muchless green or red. Is she just not old enough. Or may be she isn't pure bred? Anyone know? |
I think Whispersmom said 6 months before colors appear sometimes...she definitely looks pure breed to me....in a bright room with lots of light you should be able to notice..that is when Maximus eyes looks a little freaky..lol..when the living room light is on plus the lamps light also I can see the color in Maximus' eyes..Lily's coat looks very sof and shiny though..Maximus send big smooches to Lily |
1 Attachment(s) This is a recent picture of Brutus and his eyes glowed green for the first time! I hope he has a silky coat! |

Ok..great... that explains it (I was confused) . Desi eyes ALWAYS came out red in pictures, but she has the softest, silkiest coat ever. She is now 7 months and I haven't taken a picture in a while, but, most of her puppy pictures are "red eye" |
2 Attachment(s) Pita has a silky coat and her eyes are always green in pictures. |
That is very interesting. I have noticed just lately that Maggie's pictures have been showing up with green/glowing eyes. Guess that means she has a silky / shiny coat---which she does. |
luzangela, the dog has to be in a dark room so it's puplis are dilated. The light reflects off the back of the eye and that happens when the flash is directly aimed at the subject.. As Pat said, you can also just go into a low-light situation and shine a bright light directly toward the dog. Shorty, one of her studs, had chartreuse eyes...he is sooooooo neat!! |
Really...the light from the lamp seems to freak Maximus eyes out...they look like glass balls..is that weird? |
I am not sure what you mean...You only move the light over their eyes briefly. Otherwise, the pupil constricts and you can't see the flash.. BTW, previous post said show people keep their SOW potential. Read that as sHow..although, some of them are porkers-piggies..LOL |
1 Attachment(s) I just took this pic of Mackenzie.. It's the first time her eyes have shown color like this......she will be 5 months this coming Saturday......can you tell me from this color if she will be silky?...or is it too soon? ...I'd love to know :p ....thanks (hope I attached the pic properly) |
