| ![]() I would like some opinions about Eukanuba dog food. I have read so many threads on dif foods and diets and i am curious if this is a good one or full of fillers--??? I really thought it was one of the best and it reads all natural ingredients with added vitamins and minerals and amino acids. But now after reading so many threads i am having some doubts. Corn meal is the third ingred. and the fourth is ground whole grain. He likes it and i also feed him boiled chicken and steamed carrots and bananas.... |

| ![]() I fed Eukanuba when I first got Emma. After I found out what was really in it, I stopped feeding it right away. I switched to Blue Buffalo which is holistic and is much better quality-and available at Petsmart! I now feed homemade meals to my dogs, and give a little BB kibble from time to time. Check out the different foods at http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_food_reviews/ Most YT members agree that a 4-5 star food is best for yorkies. 6 star foods are too rich for our small companion dogs, and are best for large working breeds. You'll find that Eukanuba is rated low on the list, and it gives reasons why by particular variety.

| ![]() I'm still very up in the air on what I want to feed. Bella came to me eating ceasars puppy soft food and I can't remember what dry kibble but not a great one. I first switched her to Eukanuba and then found it wasn't a great food so decided to try Royal Canine and she ended up with awful stomach upset from it so I weaned her back on the Eukanuba because I know she handles it well. I'm really afraid to switch her up again at this point because he had the most awful poops with blood in them from the RC

I'm not sure which foods are available in your area, and what will be best for your dog, but you may have to try a couple until you find one that works best. Many YT'ers feed Royal Canin, Canidae, Chicken Soup, and Merricks. I researched many of those brands, and then made my decision to go with Blue Buffalo when I fed kibble all of the time. I think they are all great foods, and that there are pros and cons to each of them. Ultimately you have to find what your dog likes, does well on, and is available in your area at a price point you can afford.

| ![]() Check with your vet-depending on weight and how your puppy is growing, some vets give the OK for adult food or 1/2 puppy and 1/2 adult food when puppies are 8-9 months old.

| ![]() We are getting a 9-week old puppy who has been fed Eukanuba. Is it still necessary to transition a young puppy to a healthier food so slowly? |

| ![]() I would surely recommend it! Your puppy will probably be healthier if you change to a more quality food sooner, in my opinion.
