Well I have been fairly inactive on this board for sometime, because it seems life has gotten away with me a bit and I never find the time to log in however, I can say this people seem pretty tame here to me. Even in comparrison to this board a couple years ago, things seem pretty tame. I often wonder when these problems come up however, if it is not so much people being rude, as miscommunication happening. One thing I have noticed is someone can post an opinion not directed at any one member in particular, and others will get up in arms about it, because it hits them so hard personally. Hey everyone hear loves their dogs, and everyone has a right to an opinion, I think everyone should try to not let it affect them personally so much, believe me though I know that is hard. |
Friendly Disclaimer!! ;) This is just my opinion: I've seen this forum years ago and now again in recent months. I wonder if the reason that YT is "tame" compared to other forums is because of the way we self-monitor ourselves. I've noticed that when a thread like this is started, it gets everyone a little agitated for a bit, but then the other threads become even more educational vs judgemental. Even though we may take offense at the thread at first, it helps us to look at ourselves and our communciation. Everyone does have a right to both their opinion and the way the present it (within the YT rules). Bottom line though - because this forum is "better" than others doesn't mean any of us should be content with that and stop striving to make it even better. :D |

I think this site is great for education on yorkie wellbeing, i must admit i get irritated by a few members opinions or more the way they hammer their opinions into people, but to be honest they are massively in the minority and best ignored, i think the way YT is run is great, they are very quick to suspend access to these people and often when they come back they are more aware of how to interact and hopefully become better members. Most people on here have HUGE hearts and give great advise on all sorts of things. :) |
I agree that this site is very informative, but at the same time, people on here can be very rude. I have seen it over and over again. I agree with the original post'er, that some people on here can come off a bit harsh, and I wouldn't blame a newbie that wants to leave based on a response from someone who is very associated with Yorkies. |
I haven't been here long but I am just thrilled that I found this site. I have learned so much here, honestly I would be clueless about my yorkie if I didn't have YT. I only wish I would have found it BEFORE I got my girl! Every once in awhile you see a thread get a little heated but it is a message board and people are going to disagree sometimes. I've never seen anyone be down right disrespectful like you see on other message boards. |
