poochie bell update For those who were talking about these bells on the training forum.... just wanted to let ya know! Carson's got it! He's about 10 months old. We've had the bells for about a month. This morning, when we walked him downstairs to go potty, he voluntarily rang them, then stared at the door, like, "well?".... Then he did it again several times today! Whoohooo! I think they work! deb |
yay!. They do work. I have been using this method since April.:) |
i love the potty bells!!!!!!!!!!! we had maggie trained in NO time with them!!! i have them in my office too :) |
So how does the potty bell work? How do you train them????? This is the first I have heard of them.... |
This is great to hear! I just bought some Poochie Bells and I'm planning to train my boys to use them. |
I love them, too. Wouldn't use anything else. For those of you who don't know, go to this site. I think there is probably still a video to show you how they work, too. I can hear them all over the house and late at night it is wonderful, because the bells aren't as loud as a bark!:D http://www.poochie-pets.net/ |

that is also what zoey is doing everytime she rings the bell know just to play outside :)So i don't know if she has to pee or just wants to play outside but everytime she rings the bell i put her first outside she do her pee and then she can play on the lanai. |
Someone asked how you use them. Be aware that they are kind of loud...if you jangle them too hard. both my dogs were a little scared of them at first because when I took them out of the package I showed them, and jangled them. They were surprised by the sound and went running! After that we just hung them on the door and each time we went out, we said, Do you want to go potty? ring the bell... and we would ring it gently. After a week or so, we asked them to just touch it with their noses... Carson did. Now he pushes them and they make a little jangle. He doesn't find the bells and jangle them to tell us he needs to go out yet. But it's a-comin'! yay! It would be better if the outside door was where we always hang out, but we are usually upstairs. I hung a separate set upstairs, and want to train him to jangle that to tell us, but I don't know if it will work, since they aren't attached to the door that leads outside. deb |
