yorkielovebug Two days ago a breeder friends, breeder friend (can you follow this lol) has a litter of 4 pups her kids let the mommy out to do her business she ran into the street and was killed. The friend called my friend (Helen) knowing she had a 3 week old litter asking if she would let her use her momma, she said absolutely! Her mommy took over as if they had always been hers and the babies are continuing to thrive and have the nurturing they so need at this age. Its wonderful when breeders come to the plate to help out others in trying times, thinking of nothing except the welfare of these precious babies. BTW the breeder that took over the rearing has just become a new member "yorkielovebug" |
Kim: This is so sad, but also a very lovely story too. I wih those pups all the health and love in hte world and I hope they continue to thrive. And welcome YorkieLoveBug :) |
awww.....sad but sweet at the same time! Poor babies! I agree it is always nice to see people do great things for each other! Welcome YorkieLoveBug! |
Welcome yorkielovebug! You will be a great addition to the group. :D |
Wow, that was great of that other breeder to say yes! That is so sad about the mommy getting killed  Genie |
That's so sad but sweet at the same time. |
puppies How sad..but glad to hear the puppies are doing well. I had a Yorkie named Ivy who nursed a litter for her sister Peach when she had eclampsia. The litters were 3 weeks apart. I weaned Ivy's 3 pups who were 5 weeks and she took Peach's 6 babies...loved them all. Ivy retired afterwards and is a doted on pet now. |
Poor Ivy! Lucky to retire after that crew! That must have been a lot of work for you, too - Pat! How many pups does Helen's baby have, with or without the other 4? |
Touching Story...Sad and happy.... Poor mommie - that's very sad. Your friend sounds just awesome....welcome to yorkielovebug - That was a wonderful thing you did. |
just wants to make your cry...losing one and yet another stepping in to take over, awesone |
yorkielovebug Hi I am Yorkielovebug, and so happy to be a member of. I love talking about our yorkie family. The mommy that took the 4 babies, had 2 of her own, but she is real happy now to have 6, I think she wanted a bigger family to begin with. The babies are happy to have a mommy also. It make me so happy to see them doing so well. Thank You so much, Helen |
yorkielovebug I am so happy to become a member of yorkietalk, as you can tell I love talking about my babies, they are so precious, we just love them to death. I have a friend Kimberly, that has been a great help to me, its funny, how you can become such great friend's when it comes to yorkies. They are our world, and it makes my day to see them so happy. and playing, they are so grateful. The mommy that adopted the 4 babies had 2 of her own. So she has 6 now and seems to be real happy, with her big family, course it means a lot more feed and vitamins and lot's of tender care. But we'll pull thr. this , orwith no problem. yorkielovebug |
welcome yorkielovebug, how sad to hear about the pups mommy ,but glad to hear the puppies are doing great and that the other yorkie are feeding those baby pups she must be one special yorkie momma :) |
It is sad and i hope the owners have learned not to let their doggies out without a leash from now on. Glad to hear the pups survived, but sorry to hear a sweet little yorkie has passed on.:( |
Yorkielovebug - Welcome! Thank you for saving those babies!!!!! :) Your yorkie mommy is doing a good deed. She saved their LIVES!!! |
It is very sad that the mama Yorkie died, but I love hearing about animal moms who take over another's young as their own, besides the part about the birth mom dying. It is so amazing that some animal moms do that. On the note of adoptive animal mothers, did anyone else here watch the episode of Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom on March 6th? The episode was called "Heart of a Lioness" and it was about: Quote:
My heart goes out to animals like that. I just love stories like that. Once again, I am so sorry about that mama Yorkie dying. |
yorkielovebug Hi , thanks to everyone, for their interest in the yorkie babies, that lost their mommy, I'm just so happy that I had a good hearted mommy , that would except the babies, and thanks to Kimberly she has helped me a lot. I'm proud to be a member of yorkietalk, as I love talking about my yorkie family. Thanks again Helen |

OMG! That is horrible that the momma got killed! :( Your friend is a noble woman for fostering the new litter. Not many people would do that...at least around here. |

Im assuming she was hit by a car right? (poor, poor little baby). What happened to the driver? Is he/she doing anything to try and help? |
The adopted babies are all doing fine. They seem real happy with their new stepmon, and she is excited about haveing them. She don't make a difference in any of the babies. She loves them all. Just a note yorkielovebug |
yorkielovebug Hi; Just thought I'd let everyone know the 4 adopted babies + my 2 are all doing fine. Mommy loves them all and so do I. Takes a little extra time, and a lot more tender loveing care, but worth every minute of itm to see those babies liveing that lost their mommy in that terrible accident. yorkielovebug |
So glad to here that they are doing well!!! |
You are most welcome here, YorkieLoveBug. God bless you for your kind and generous heart. |
would you all do me a favor Helen is a bit shy and as you see doesnt chat much on YT but I must say she spends most of her computer hours reading through all the posts here on YT...she is such a great woman she needs some encouragement to let her voice be heard she is a very seasoned, dedicated and knowledgable breeder with the most generous, loving heart and soul... also I just put up a quick sweet website that fits her personality to a T (not totally finished yet cause we dont have all the pictures) on monday when you all have a chance would you sign her guest book! she is so excited about her website. I wouldnt normally ask any to do this but....dont tell her I told you ssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhh she is 72 years old and going strong as ever, I just know when she when she kicks its going to be in a whelpin bed surrounded by yorkie kisses. http://yorkielovebug.com/guestbook.htm thanks for listening |
