It is very sad that the mama Yorkie died, but I love hearing about animal moms who take over another's young as their own, besides the part about the birth mom dying. It is so amazing that some animal moms do that.

On the note of adoptive animal mothers, did anyone else here watch the episode of Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom on March 6th? The episode was called "Heart of a Lioness" and it was about:

This show was so amazing. This lioness was actually being a mother to think oryx antelope which is usually it's prey. The story ended sadly because the lioness could not feed the oryx and it died. At the end of the show, they said that this smae lioness repeated this task several times with different oryx babies. Isn't that amazing? A lioness was trying to be a good mother to her usual prey!

My heart goes out to animals like that. I just love stories like that.

Once again, I am so sorry about that mama Yorkie dying.

Hi , thanks to everyone, for their interest in the yorkie babies, that lost their mommy, I'm just so happy that I had a good hearted mommy , that would except the babies, and thanks to Kimberly she has helped me a lot. I'm proud to be a member of yorkietalk, as I love talking about my yorkie family. Thanks again Helen

OMG! That is horrible that the momma got killed! :( Your friend is a noble woman for fostering the new litter. Not many people would do that...at least around here. :thumbup:

Im assuming she was hit by a car right? (poor, poor little baby). What happened to the driver? Is he/she doing anything to try and help?

The adopted babies are all doing fine. They seem real happy with their new stepmon, and she is excited about haveing them. She don't make a difference in any of the babies. She loves them all. Just a note yorkielovebug

Just thought I'd let everyone know the 4 adopted babies + my 2 are all doing fine. Mommy loves them all and so do I. Takes a little extra time, and a lot more tender loveing care, but worth every minute of itm to see those babies liveing that lost their mommy in that terrible accident. yorkielovebug

would you all do me a favor Helen is a bit shy and as you see doesnt chat much on YT but I must say she spends most of her computer hours reading through all the posts here on YT...she is such a great woman she needs some encouragement to let her voice be heard she is a very seasoned, dedicated and knowledgable breeder with the most generous, loving heart and soul...

also I just put up a quick sweet website that fits her personality to a T (not totally finished yet cause we dont have all the pictures) on monday when you all have a chance would you sign her guest book! she is so excited about her website. I wouldnt normally ask any to do this but....dont tell her I told you ssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhh she is 72 years old and going strong as ever, I just know when she when she kicks its going to be in a whelpin bed surrounded by yorkie kisses. http://yorkielovebug.com/guestbook.htm
