copied from http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/210478/factitious_disorder_is_ Not saying this is her (JOY) but I have been looking... there is also the stealing.... factitious disorder..purposely create or exaggerate symptoms of illnesses. They usually go about this in diverse ways. They can lie about an illness and/or fake symptoms of illnesses or injuries. In some cases, they actually hurt themselves or alter diagnostic studies, such as contaminating a urine specimen. The reasons behind the actions are to feign the role as a "patient." This will assure them of receiving attention, nurturing, and sympathy that they feel they are powerless to obtain in other ways. Some factitious disorder patients will reach as far as taking hallucinogens and even inject themselves with bacteria to produce infections. Factitious disorder and Munchausen Syndrome are closely related. Munchausen Syndrome is a psychiatric disorder where a person fakes disease, illness, or psychological trauma in order to draw attention or sympathy to him or herself. Malingering differentiates from factious disorder because the person fakes illness to attain external gains such as drugs or disability payments. Factitious disorder is diagnosed by the absence of malingering. |
Kleptomania Kleptomania = http://www.minddisorders.com/Kau-Nu/Kleptomania.html read more reading this gives me chills... and makes me sick Kleptomania is a complex disorder characterized by repeated, failed attempts to stop stealing. It is often seen in patients who are chemically dependent or who have a coexisting mood, anxiety, or eating disorder. Other coexisting mental disorders may include major depression, panic attacks, social phobia, anorexia nervosa, bulimianervosa, substance abuse, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. People with this disorder have an overwhelming urge to steal and get a thrill from doing so. The recurrent act of stealing may be restricted to specific objects and settings, but the affected person may or may not describe these special preferences. People with this disorder usually exhibit guilt after the theft. Detection of kleptomania, even by significant others, is difficult and the disorder often proceeds undetected. There may be preferred objects and environments where theft occurs. One theory proposes that the thrill of stealing helps to alleviate symptoms in persons who are clinically depressed. |

I wanted to check in here to see if there was any more progress. Panama69, I so feel for you. When Joy was posting all those threads about her dogs, I was totally snowed by her, she seemed so sweet, devoted to her dying Nana and those little dogs. Like I said earlier, I feel like a total idiot for being sucked in like that..... I used to cry sometimes when she spoke about her Grandmother, nearly sent her money. I have a thought - it seems to me she dodged payment of money or items owed to so many people here. Perhaps by August, she was starting to feel cornered and desperate, so MAYBE she was the one that pretended to be her sister and sent out that email about her terrible accident. This way she knew for sure it would be posted on YorkieTalk, people would feel so sorry for her, they would not dream of demanding she pay up. Then when she got found out, she posted that thread regarding her "outrage" over the "lie" of her supposed accident. I do feel strongly that Joy was the one behind this, as a way of escaping her debts. Just my two cents. I did look for the emails she sent me, but unfortunately I had deleted them. Sorry to repeat myself, but I still feel like a total fool for being sucked in by this girl. I truly sympathize for you Panama69, you must be so desperate to get Melody back. Hugs to you, Lauren |

Another reason i didnt is cause i figured ppl have the right to put any price they want on what they are selling but since i sold them to her cheaper i thought it was wrong of her to try and get more money for them from YT members when really YT memebers are your friends and you shouldn't be trying to jip them:thumbdown |
SORRY, TOO MUCH INCONSISTENCY IN THIS STORY, I'M SCEPTIC ABOUT ALL THIS.:thumbdown :thumbdown |
