When he bites you, yell "yipe" in a high pitch voice. You want to imitate what a puppy that yelps sounds like. After yelping move away from him for a minute and ignore him. Do this EVERY time he bites you, even if it doesn't hurt much.
This will teach him that if he wants to play with you, he has to be gentle.

Have you ever watched a group of puppies play. When one is playing too rough the other will yelp causing the first puppy to back off. This is the same concept with puppies and humans, you are just speaking in his language.

It might sound goofy to yelp like a puppy but it is one of the most successful ways of stopping the bite. It teaches him bite control, every dog should learn this.


As for his barking you need to figure out what is triggering his barking. Usually sound control is one of the best methods for stopping excessive barking.
