Why Does She Keep Peeing On Him!! Help! Ok, I am so confused about what bailey thinks shes doing and why shes doing it... And today it happend again and im just sick of it! She is almost a year old and I want this stuff to stop!... She is very close to me and just so-so with my boyfriend (my boyfriend and i live together so she is kinda like our child) well anyway she sleeps in the bed with us and she occasionally has accidents in the bed but we recently noticed a pattern (by the way she knows to pee on the piddle pad and usually does) well anyway these "accidents" have become more frequent and we have noticed that most of the time she is peeing on daddys back and its almost always on HIS side of the bed... she has peed on his back, chest, leg... anything you can think of... and then as soon as she does it she runs away and hides in a corner, like she knows she has done something wrong and shes guna get scolded... She has never peed on me and its just gotten my boyfriend up in arms this morning my boyfriend was tickeling me and so she crawled on top of him and peed... then she ran away went downstairs and peed on his jeans... I dont know if she thinks she is protecting me or what but its just really odd... we always scold her and pick her up and put her on the piddle pad but i dont think its an issue of not knowing where to go pee... its something else... anyone know why she could be doing this??? |
she must be marking him as her territory! :aimeeyork |
She is either marking him or trying to piss him off for being with her mamma. Wow...that would surely wear thin having her doing that. I would stop letting her up on the bed if that is what she is doing. Seems a bit spiteful to me. |
Wow.... thats so odd! She's definately tryna tell ya something, what? Dunno... But maybe not letting her sleep with you & the bf would be the first step to letting her know that behavior isnt acceptable.... |

Ok so she is definitely finding him to be an unwanted person there and she is showing him he is unwanted. While I don't care for the whole alpha type of training I think she needs some to be shown while mommy loves her she won't get her way. She should not be able to dictate if he can or can't be in the room...while we love our babies they are not babies like a human child and need to be treated as animals (that is my own personal feelings about it and there are others that feel differently and we are all entitled to our opinions...so I hope no one wants to jump on me and start arguing this point. To each their own when it comes to this thought). I would suggest letting her sleep in the room with you on a bed on the floor near the bed. That behaviour is unacceptable and you shouldn't have to attempt to arrange your relationship and human interaction to suit her needs. |
She might be jealous of the attention you give to each other. I'd try crating her at night until she stops, because she obviously knows what she's doing. |
For sure she knows what she is doing. This behaviour is the mild mannered version of being aggressive towards someone when they come near mommy. When I had Lex he used to nip or growl at my son or anyone coming near me. |

I could not imagine what my husband who do if this continued to happen over & over again!!! First of all, I would not put my bf or husband in the guest room or on the sofa ...that is not fair to him. I love my sweet Yorkie, Buddy, more than anything but if he continued to pee on my husband over & over again .....I would remove him from sleeping with us!!!! Sounds like she knows what she is doing is wrong and does it just to spite you. I personally would crate her at night. Buddy completely LOVES his crate at night. When we start turning off the lights at night and say, "its bedtime "...he runs to his crate and never makes a sound all night!!! Best of luck to you!!! Keep us posted!!!! |
above edit: I could not imagine what my husband would (*not who*) do |

She is editing herself, not someone else. Were you thinking she was editing someone else (ie being rude)? LOL, innocent mistake I think there, Daze! :D |

Someone is afraid of losing her place of status in the family. She is willing for you to be the number one, but your boyfriend is not going to be number two if she can help it. I agree that she needs to be put in her place, and if that is out of your bed, thats it. we love these little stinkers too much some times, but a dog that knows it's place, is a secure dog, and a happier animal. Please don't let my Sawyer know I refered as a yorkie as an animal, lol:D |

Wow that is strange but I have heard of it before. My sister in law's little chihuahua HATES her boyfriend. She barks and growls at him every time she sees him. Even though they have been together for almost two years now! (prob did something cruel to her because she isnt like this to anyone else). Anyways, she sometimes pee's on his side of the bed as well. So maybe your little girl doesnt like your boyfriend for some reason, either way if a dog was peeing on my bed every night, it would not be coming on the bed again! I tried having MiMi on the bed with me but she peed at the end of the bed, ever since I just crate her. |
the only problem with crating her is that we used to do this and her bloodsugar would drop so low that she would not be moving in the morning... We even would put plenty of food and water in there but she would refuse to eat or drink and she would just spill everything all over and soak herself and then cry until we came and cleaned her up and let her out.... She is only 1.9lbs so we really have to keep an eye on her bloodsugar and she seems to upset herself to the point that it affects her health when we crate her. |

I would always feed lulu a handful of cheerios before bed as a snack to keep that blood sugar up it's a good source of nutrition. Lulu is now 3 lbs at 11 months and I never (knock on wood) had any episodes with her. If you would like you can get an xpen to keep her in the room and unstressed. I would definitely stop the bed until she learns to act like a little lady. She doesn't get fed at night in your bed right...so she shouldn't have any issues being in the crate. I don't necessarily think that your BF did something to her. I think it's her asserting her dominance. I think that animals live for the moment and can and easily will forget a small indescretion on our part. If it weren't so then dogs that were neglected and abused could never be rehabilitated. These little guys are smart (not saying that the low blood sugar is manipulation) and learn quick how to manipulate a situation to their liking...they are not terrors for anything. It's good to set her straight before she turns into a little monster. Who is to say that if you continue to give her her own way that it won't get worse and she will become that way to any visitors or possibly a child that you have in the future. |
JMO : Don't make the mistake of over coddling her because she is small. A lot of small dogs get yippy and a bit out of control because their owners give them a free pass because they are tinies, lap dogs etc. You can totally love her without giving her a free pass to become a terror. |
ah... i know i tend to let her get away with more because shes so small... We have a rottie and she cant get away with anything! But she is very well behaved because we taught her to be that way.. with bailey if she pees in the house its like EH NO BIG DEAL... because its so small and easy to clean up but I know its wrong... I just hate when she looks at me with her big brown eyes .... im a softy and my boyfriend is ALWAYS telling me that.... how do i learn to not be such a softy!.... |
She is jealous..I think it's kinda sweet, but can see how this will get old FAST. I think the only solution is to make the poor thing sleep in her crate. |
