| ![]() Without giving anything away, I was wondering if there are any SAFE ways to color some of Mojo's and Lily's hair to go along with thier Halloween costume. I am really NOT wanting to, but I think it would look really cute. I know there are sprays out there for our hair, but is there anything safe, nontoxic and that washes out very easily that I could tint a few pieces of their hair with??? Thanks in advance!

| ![]() My friends used to always dye their hair with kool-aid to be rebellious! I was jealous of the blonde girls haha. But yeah kool-aid is safe and it washes out!

| ![]() I don't think food coloring is the way to go. We put it in my ex's hair once and it wouldn't come out. I thought it was really funny. He didn't.

| ![]() My cousin dyed her hair with kool-aid and it took months to wash out. Don't you have to leave kool-aid in for 6-12 hours for it to work? I have heard of using Manic Panic or Punky Color to dye dog's hair. Or you could ask your groomer. It seems like a lot of people get their poodles dyed pink at groomers. Or you could use those cans of spray color for hair that they always have at halloween, but it makes the hair stiff like hair spray.

| ![]() Jenn, You could try colored sidewalk chalk. When my daughter was little we had a westie (white dog) and one day she came in from coloring with side walk chalk on the back patio and said, "Look Mommmy, doesn't Scruffy look pretty?" I just had to laugh, she had colored the poor dog with sidewalk chalk. He was multicolored!! So funny! I should have taken pictures. But it came out just fine with a bath. I am not sure if it will show up very well with a blue and tan dog, but it's worth a try and definitely won't be permanent! Good luck, let us know what you end up using.

| ![]() Both Koolaid and Food coloring permanently color the hair, although it will fade a lot with time. I think there are temporary products out there made for people. They come in like mascara-looking tubes and you just put streaks in the hair. It should wash right out. Also, when I was a kid I used Crayola Water-soluble markers to color my hair. I would take sections of my hair and color it with the markers. It always washed right out.

| ![]() Some groomers will do it for you. There is this groomer in the area that dyes dogs different colors and it looks so pretty! I don't think I would ever dye the entire dog, but it is pretty. Here is their Craigslist ad with pictures just so you can see. ![]() http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/pet/430943488.html |

| ![]() DON'T USE KOOL AID! It doesn't wash out! When I was 13, I colored my blonde hair pink with it (just a big chunk), and it was with me until it finally grew out in COLLEGE! It fades, but it's always there!

| ![]() Thanks everyone. I didn't know if the spray can hair coloring would be good or not. I have never used it for our hair, but it is a plus that it is like hairspray too because I might not the hair to stand up some. Does this stuff wash out good? I am sure it does since it is sold and used for Halloween costumes in human hair. I have a big bucket of sidewalk chalk though, so that might be something...I am going to try that today to see what it looks like...I am just afraid it wouldn't be dark enough though. And washable markers...that seems like a great idea...I have those too, so I might try some in a place that isn't too noticable right now. THANKS AGAIN EVERYONE!!! You've been a big help!!! ![]()

Before you use the Halloween spray stuff, make sure it's non-toxic. Since it's aerosol, I'm not sure how safe that would be for the furkids? Oh, and make sure you DON'T get the glitter kind....you will forever have glitter in your house, in their hair, and all over everything! (Can you tell I'm experienced in this one?!??) I've used it before in my own hair, and it doesn't wash out that easily, I'm afraid! You might try it in an inconspicuous place in your own hair first, and see if it comes out?
