AWe..you poor baby..Lola is fine..When Jasper was a month(when I had him a month) he would get right under my feet and I thought I had squashed him,he would yelp, thank God, he was fine,it happend 3 times until he figured out if I fell on him it wouldnt be pretty!I swear Jasper would play it for all it was worth,he would only yelp once but took every treat he could and kisses and layed in my arms getting , cuddles instead of me doing my housework! I dont think lola needs to go to the vet! Please give Lola a hug from me and a eskimo kiss from Jasper! |
THANK GOD I am not alone! You are ALL too sweet...your stories have given me a much needed laugh :). Lola is totally back to normally now...although probably 1 pound heavier...like any mom...I let her know I was sorry through treats :(. YT is such a great place and I am so happy to be a part of it! The very first night I had Archie, I accidentally tossed a rubber ball into his pen (with him in it) and hit him on his head. BIG GUILT! Then, a couple of weeks later, a friend dropped him on his head (he flipped out of her grasp). Poor thing, he cried and ran around for a moment, but was OK. That was a year and 1/2 ago and he's still with me. Just yesterday, I mistepped and my foot came down on him, but he scooted out of the way before any damage was done, I've done this atleast a half-dozen times since I've had him. I say all this to say -- fear not -- you are not a bad puppy mom and you will find that these little guys are pretty spunky. Just watch your little one to make sure you don't detect injury and learn the "Yorkie shuffle" that we all do to keep from flattening our little darlins! |
It's happened to most of us, and yes, it makes us feel AWFUL. I will never forget when Chanel was a tiny tot, my friend's husband stood on her, omg i pushed him so hard, poor guy got the scare of hes life - my friend smacked him for being so careless LOL |
I'm so happy to learn about the "Yorkie Shuffle" -- been doing it for years, but didn't know that's what it is called. Now I can tell my 91 year old dad that he's not old, just doing the Yorkie Shuffle - he'll love it. Glad your baby is alright. It would be a rare fur mom that never had to experience the yorkie scream. What a fright that is! |
I wouldn't worry if she's not limping, or acting different. I think we've all been there atleast once. |
:lol tears what a funny bunch we are! All doing the "Yorkie Shuffle". Yes I guess we have all accidently stood on little toes. They also learn to do the "people dodge!" |
Ive done the same thing with boobah. Im not thinking at times, and she is right in between my feet. One time I stepped on her paw and she yelled to high heaven. She limped for about 10 seconds and I gave her a treat to aleve her pain and also gave her bunch of hugs. I am used to her now and now I can hear her, she has a little bell on her collar so I can hear her coming and going. I know its hard to take but just be aware of Lola, knowing that she could be where you least expect her! At your feet!;) |
You are not bad mommy!!! We all been there!!! I have stepped on all 3 of my yorkies in the past, I dropped one of them from top of the stairs, Momiji (my current yorkie and the smallest of all) fell off from my dog purse, I shut a door on their face, I can go on and on!!!! I'm sure they were scared but they do bounce back quickly!!! Thank goodness all of my yorkies are tough cookies!!! |
I'm a member, too! Lucy was about 4 mos old when I turned around and changed direction. She was right under me and I stepped on her. Broke my heart! She screamed bloody murder and I took her to the vet for x-rays and the whole works. I thought I had killed her. She was FINE:D |
