| Do you have Karo syrup or Nutri Cal? Give him a dab so he sustain energy. You must get her to eat, maybe try those tiny jars Beechnut with baby food - turkey sticks, or a little boiled chicken breast. Did you get any food from the breeder?

| new puppy Yes, I have the nutri stuff and he eats that with vigor. The breeder sent up home with the food they gave him, he stiffs it, but won't eat it. I know it is very important for him to eat, but I was told by the breeder not to give him anything but the food they sent with him. He is very playful and seems to be doing OK, just won't eat. Is this normal? |

| When we brought Leo home the few days he didn't eat much. I did have to use the nutrical to get him to eat a couple of times, because I thought it had been to long since he had ate. This did work. After a couple of days he didn't need it any more. We also kept honey in his water for the first week. |

| I forgot: I also did a lot of hand feeding of Leo for the first two days. I would fill up his bowl like normal but every 15 minutes I would feed him a few piece of food out of my hand. I did this all day long. The nutrical should make him want to eat. How much did you give him? Last edited by momof4CA; 09-17-2007 at 08:42 AM. |

| We just brought our puppy home on Saturday and he didn't want to eat much the first day...he wouldn't eat unless I put the little bowl of kibble on the couch with us...but now he goes to the kitchen to eat it when he wants...just takes a little time to adjust. My breeder feed him some cottage cheese with his kibble or some soft dog food...he doesn't seem to like the soft dog food bought but he loves the cottage cheese...don't worry...as long as he is not showing signs of hypoglicemia he should be ok...he will eat when he gets hungry... Where does everyone get this Nutrical? I looked for it at the stores but couldn't find it...do I need to ask my Vet today? He has his first vet appt this afternoon.. |

| It took Sebastian almost a week to start eating. I made him boiled chicken which he would eat. Now he's eating his kibble.
