Yeah, that's from WAY back when they had a job to do of catching rats. They downsized tremendously for the Yorkie standard. Now that "tea cups" are so popular, the 7 pound Yorkie gets questioned. |

My teapot is 11# of love and energy--and can out run a s###zu in a minute. I probably would've asked her how much she weighed and if she wasn't just a bit over-weight--right she was overweight, wasn't she?? |
I feel ya! This is only my second time on YorkieTalk and the very first time I had a question about breeding ACA & AKC - (my 11.5 pounder is ACA) and I was barraged with many many posts of hw it would be unethical to even breed my boy and I should neuter him..... glad to see I am not the only person on here who thought that was rude! (and I am sure those people were well-intending - but it is really up to me and the owner of the female to make that decision) wow! |

Isn't it a matter of a personal prference anyway? A 12 lb dog would be small for some people, but big for others. Just they should keep their 'private' opinions for themselves. JMO |
I had the opposite problem happen to me today. My Yorkie Jayci is 4.50 lbs. He is a long dog though. My sister came over and started making comments about how skinny he is. My Jayci has a "puppy cut" and yes he looks really skinny but my goodness can this dog eat!! He is a little piggy and her comments hit a nerve bc 1. She is not here on a reg basis to see how my dog really is with food. and 2. She knows nothing about Yorkies and should just keep her mouth shut! Each Yorkie is unique and please just ignore the comments. I know it is hard. |
