How much salt do you give to make them vomit? On their tongue or in their throat? |
http://rat-terrier.com/Home/tabid/37...c/Default.aspx scroll down to see strength of peroxide this is new to me too |
My aunts little cocker spaniel ate some rat poison and the vet told her to give the peroxide and she vomited immediately. Peroxide is good to have around when you have dogs because they are always into something. That is good to know about the salt too, I didn't know that and no matter where you are most people or places have salt. |

See now that was one of the major ones I had hoped someone would know about....SO now we know induce vomiting if the each rat poison!! Thanks for that reply! |
I'm pretty sure the same rules apply as to humans. If it is a chemical such as a cleaning solution - do not induce vomiting as it burns going down, it will burn again coming back up. There is a special charcoal you feed that will soak it up and milk will help coat the sytem. For most everything else, inducing vomiting asap can lessen results. Knew about the peroxide, but not the salt. Great tip!!!!! You do need to be careful when they ingest medication. A friend of mine's yorkie ate a few sleeping pills (almost died) and the vet said DO NOT induce vomiting as it can regurgitate the effects of the meds. Better to be safe and call poison control. |
#1 Is to call the vet, if you can't get ahold then try poison control. My baby got into diet pills and they had to administer Charcoal. Depends on what the pup got into, and have you, they ALWAYS are getting into things. =) |
Sorry I misspelled it...:o :D Maggie eat cockroach poison... And yes, the idea of using salt is great in case you don't find peroxide around;) Another thing about poisoning, DO NOT indulce vomit if the pup ate poison (of any kind!) for longer than 5 min!!! It's because poison can be digested REALLY fast, and by indulcing vomit the pup can start having seizures!!! :( In this case take him/her to a Vet ASAP!!! |
