Good Luck! I'm going to have to stay out of this one as a few have made some BIG statments and some pretty opinionated ones about this subject. Maybe not realizing they have hurt others feelings or they just dont care. What do I think of a chocolate yorkie?? I think they deserve just as much love as any other Yorkie But you should not have to pay a lot more. Yes they are said to be a defect in genes. Ask yourself this...If your child had a defect would you not consider them your child?? If you like the Chocolate Yorkie, then you get yourself one. Have an open heart and an open mind. :D I hope all works out for you and if you do go with the chocolate or any other Yorkie for that matter please post pics! we love pics! |

I have to agree with you on this.....every type of yorkie deserves to be loved and are perfect no matter what they look like. Each and everyone of them is unique and look very different. God bless them all! |

Oh I dont mean people necessarily in this thread I mean in general. And Im speaking more of Parti/Biewer issues...I just have to stay out of it as it's best. The question by the original poster was what do you think of a chocolate yorkie and I still say they are gorgeous loving babies, dont pay more, or fall for the rare bit, and don't support puppy mills. I do feel if people are breeding to try and get a chocolate yes thats questionable. I'll say this...I cannot look at a dog like Livi (TammyJM's) and say she is destroying the breed. I just dont see it like that. I've said enough and I get angry when I think abut certain things that have been said and PM'ed to me in here about breeding. I spent a few days crying and I won't go there again. I do not mean anything towards anyone in this thread.... |
Run fer the hills and take yer youngins' theres a storm a commin" !!!! |
I think chocolates are adorable. I dont think breeders should breed for them or charge rare prices for them however. They are cute little yorkies that need a good home too and I dont think there is anything wrong with buying one |
i love chocolate yorkies and would buy one but not for more money than a reg. yorkie and i wouldnt buy from a pet store. I dont think people should stop breeding them because they are beautiful but i dont think they should be used to make more money. |
1 Attachment(s) All i have to say is i think they are BEAUTIFUL even if they are a genetic defect or whatever. London was born chocolate, with the light colored nose, the hazel eyes and brown hair and i wouldn't change her for a thing! However her color did change a bit, now she's blonde and dark brown. |

LMAO I'm a runnin rite now.....think the net will work out there? LoL Could you grab some doritos on ur way I got the pepsi!!!!! Im over it. I guess this thread just triggered some bad memories...my fault and like I said I'd rather join ya in the hills than weather a storm. Sorry OP this is off topic and I wanna tell ya again go for it as long as the price is right and you feel at peace. Have you used the search tool in the upper right hand area? VERY helpful tool and will show you all posts with the word chocolate in it. Very informative and may answer some of your questions too! :D |

All I'm going to say is not to buy from a petstore...Their puppies come from puppymills. Google the word "puppymills" and you will see why we are so against buying from a petstore...No ethical and reputable breeder would sell their innocent little puppies to a petstore to live in cages until they are sold... As far as chocolate, don't fall into the trap of paying more for a rare yorkie. I think all yorkies, chocolate, biewer, whatever coloring are adorable and deserve good, loving homes, but don't give money to petstores...But as far as being adorable, they are very cute! |

I don't care what color they are, I'd buy a PINK yorkie if I seen one lol |
please don't buy any dog from a pet store. If a chocolate is what you want please do some research. You'll learn that some breeders will up the price on these guys saying they are 'rare' but its just a sales pitch (along the same lines as teacups). This color anomaly should in fact be less money because they are not breed standard. |
don't support puppy mills .... |
