Does your yorkie like to play fetch? Rex is the king of fetch. He brings me his toys no matter where I am or what I am doing. He will bring them to the bathroom for me to throw while I'm using the bathroom. Once I get up to wash my hands, he picks up the toy and will put it behind my feet. But, last night was sooo funny. My husband dropped a piece of ice, and Rex stole it as usual. Then, he brought it to me while I was on the couch to play fetch with. Who ever thought about playing fetch with a piece of ice? What does your yorkie like to play fetch with? |
Kalina LOVES to play fetch. As soon as I come in the door she runs and brings me a toy to throw for her. I never taught her to fetch, she just brings the toy back to me from day one. She likes little stuffed squeaky toys because her mouth is still a little too small for most balls. She also loves tug-of-war. |
Rupert goes nuts for small (1") tennis balls that we buy him. He will ask my husband to throw it for him for hours! When we first got him, he would walk in small circles for long periods of time (OCD) -- now, all we have to do to 'calm' him is bring out a ball!:animal37 |
Adie too! For the longest time she would only bring her ball to me even if my husband threw it but she figured out that she could play longer and more if she played with both of us. She has several balls and we have tried to fool her into fetching a different ball than the one she is playing with. She'll have none of that! She can just go and go. I think it is a Yorkie thing! |

Chachi loves fetch. Jewels does too but Chachi always gets to the ball first so Jewels ends up playing chase. We have a cuz toy. It is a rubber ball wth feet that is their favorite to play fetch with |
Bailey will play fetch for hours, we have to take her balls away from her. When anyone comes home or to the front door, she is there with some toy in her mouth, looking hopeful someone will throw it for her. If you don't get the hint she will place it on the floor in front of you and nudge it with her nose.:p Angel has picked up Bailey's habit of running to the door with a toy but she likes to carry it around, not chase after it.:) |
Lulu only chases, but she won't bring it back. |
Chewy is obsessed with fetch, he would play it all day if he could. Sometimes at work, I'll play it with him for a while, then I'll do some work, and like 20 minutes later I'll look at him and he's still staring at me with those intense eyes pleading with me to throw again.:) |
my coco is so good at fetch. she gets what ever i throw her and then tosses it back to me. it is toooo cute |
Wobie only plays fetch when I'm playing with my big dogs (three australian shepherds). |
Bruce likes to play "Mom you fetch" He loves to play frisbee and will chase it and grab it but then run past me throw it down and come run around me until I run with him and pick it up and throw if for him again...He has me well trained! ;) |
One of my yorkies, Dylan is obsessed with fetching his little tennis ball. We have to put it up after awhile or we get no peace. He will stand in front of the desk (where his ball has been put up) for hours if we don't play. He would rather fetch then eat. LOL He also likes to push it under the couch or chairs instead of bringing it back to us sometimes. It's so annoying. Does anyone elses yorkies do this while playing fetch? I have to knock it out with the feather duster or he will just keep scratching on the furniture. |
Mine will run after the toy like crazy then just stand there and look at it when they get there. I figure atleast I have them halfway there. |
Mostly her balls, but just about any of her toys that I throw!:D |
Gracie plays fetch with her balls to the point of exhaustion--every night. She also likes to play tug-of-war with Handsome Dan, her stuffed bulldog who is also her boyfriend ;) |
Cody loves to play fetch. His soccer ball is his favorite. then the next toys are his stuffed taz and panda bear. I'll throw them and i'll bring me toy. and he comes right back ready for more |
Samson likes to play fetch with all of his toys. It's so funny what you said about the bathroom, Samson does that too! He also likes to bring his toy to me and stand over it like he's guarding it. The he starts his tough guy little growls to try to entice me to steal it. When he brings it back sometimes he only brings it half way, so I say to him "I can't reach it" and he'll go over to it and move it an inch and go back to hi wainting place to wait for me to get it. What a little stinker! |
cody does that too!! he will stop playing and look up at me and then i go to get his toy and he pounces on it like "who told you to grab my toy" LOL like just daring me to touch it. its sooo cute |
he loves playing with his favorite white doggy ... and whatever Muffin has ... |
Roxie loves to play fetch - she loves her furry toys that squeak and those little tiny tennis balls. But sometimes we have the problem where she doesn't bring them back - usually with the toys because she wants me to come & try to snag it from her. She loves that tugging play because she wants to show off her little 3.5 pound dominance - lol |
Louis loves to play fetch and chase. Like when he's done fetching and now you chase him unless he drops his toy and you pick it up and then he'll chase you. It's sooo much fun but can cause hysteria. It gets especially rambunctious when he's right at your ankles. It cracks us up! Oh! We have this l-a-s-e-r for the really hot or cold days when he can't go for walks due to the weather. It is hilarious! We've taken him and his laser over to see grandma and it just brightens up her day, and he gets to show off his "madd" skills  ( we have to spell it out because he knows it's name) |
Jake LOVES to play fetch and will play for hours! I even got him a shirt that says "Born to Fetch".:) |
Lola loves to fetch... she'll usually get tired of it after 15 to 20 times of furious running back and forth. She hustles her little bun buns! :) She also knows how to throw. A bad habit taught to her by my neighbor. He thinks its soooo cute and will pick up stuff that she throws, so that HE'S actually the one fetching!! |
"Playing fetch"? Breathing? Both the same in Coby's book. But the funniest thing that he does is carry his "pacifier" (his very first toy - carries it all the time) in his mouth but try to pick up the ball at the same time. A few times with other toys, he's succeed and is happy as a clam to get 2 toys in his big mouth. We got him a "big boy ball" (about 6" in diameter) that drives him insane because he can't pick it up. But he is learning to sort of herd it back to us. |
Lucy lives to play fetch. I play it with her in the morning twice before leaving for work and throughout most of the evening. I'm so glad she likes it because it tires her out and is great exercise :) |
Avie loves it!! <3 My mom's yorkie, Haley, will NOT give you her ball back(willingly)after she comes back from playing with it at the park. It is the funniest thing!!.. ..One time I was giving Haley a bath and was shocked at how good she was being (baths are not her thing) well when i was all done-after telling her how good she was, etc. i took her out of the bath and saw she STILL had her ball in her mouth(she was hiding it and was being mellow in the bath cuz she didnt want her ball taken away-hahahahha. it was hillarious, cuz i had no idea till after) I swear, doggies are SO SMART. :p the lil stinkers. |
Hannah and Bentley loves to play fetch, except Hannah does not bring it back to you , she wants you to chase her. Bentley tries to bring it back, but Hannah steals it from him (even though she is 4 lbs and he is 8 lbs). But we have fun anyway. I just chase her and take it and then throw it again. |

fetch My second Yorkie, Samantha, played with a blue hand ball 24/7!!!!! That was her goal in life. It was her FAVORITE game in life. She could catch it in mid-air. She loved to shove it between your legs if you were sitting, back up and growl until you threw it. She played until a few months before she passed away. I still have her blue ball and her ashes. I have never had another Yorkie like her. She is terribly missed. Lynn |
