My baby is not growing. I was hoping for a 3-3.5lb yorkie after seeing how tiny our Lulu is. I don't have my Zeus yet (getting him this Thursday), but the breeder gave me his weight at 19 weeks and at 1.9oz, the growth chart is showing he will only be in the 2lb range (Lulu's size). In 4 weeks he only grew 2oz.The breeder sent pictures and he looks very healthy with a thick coat. He is really short with tiny paws. Is there a possibility that he will get to 3.5lbs? |
There's always a possibilty. How big is the breeder predicting? |
She was predicting 3lbs, so I thought 3-3.5lbs because it seems breeders sometime underestimate. When I put a down payment he was heading for the 3lb mark. |
Hmmm, sometimes they stop growing for a little while, and then have a growth spurt, but 4 weeks is a pretty long time. I don't know. |
If you are too upset you can send her my way :p she is just going to be a teeny one...do you have some pics of her?? Dawn |
1 Attachment(s) Here's a pick of Zeus. I'm not upset about his size. I just wish he was a pound bigger. Isn't he a cutie pie? He's 19 weeks in this picture. |
He is sooooo cute! What a sweet little boy! :D |

I think there is always a possibility! My boy was 3.6pds at 1 year 4 months old..... now he is 5lbs at 2 years old! He had a late growth spurt! Maybe your guy will too! (ok, hes a bit of a chub and should probably only be 4.5lbs) |
Theres a possibility, just feed him a lot...lol. |
What a tiny little cutie pie! |
He may be like my little "Teddy" He is now 11 weeks and only 1.54 lbs. I think he's gonna be really small so I'm extra careful with him. Gizmo is 3.8 and full on energy and may still grow (he's only 4 months)! So he gets a little rough. Lacie is 6 months and 3.02 lbs, I think she might be done. I would like her a little heavier, she seems so slender. I would just keep and eye on him and see if he grows more before you pick him up. Good luck! |
