Rescue is my passion and I think very rewarding. The only thing you need to consider is if you are going into the showring how many weekends would you be gone. I think you could work through these things but I wanted to make sure you have thought about this down the road with your rescue. I never want a rescue to be treated as a second class citizen - none of them deserve what has happened and I want them treated as king and queens.:D
| Thank you. I agree that it should be a consideration if I'm gone over the weekends, but my family would still be home to love and care for them. Abby, the little girl I was looking at, has been adopted. I went and met Bente at the show on Thurs, and she pointed me toward handling classes to get me started. I'm now in a search for a show potential to take handling classes with.
Thank you all for your imput on rescuing!! I haven't ruled it out, but I think I will follow Bente's advice and stick with searching for a show potential pup right now, and begin with handling classes. |
