How much did you pay to spay/neuter and do teeth extraction? Hi guys, I just wanted to know how much you guys paid for neutering/spaying and teeth extraction. My Tobi has to have 4 canine puppy teeth taken out because they're growing in parallel to his puppy teeth. He's also right around that age to be neutered, so I took him to the vet this morning. Well, I expected it to be rather pricey, BUT, I was SHOCKED at how much the vet was looking to charge. Here is the estimate the vet gave after the $48.50 regular exam fee: Neuter: $181.90 1 Tooth Extraction: $123.91/per tooth Pre & Post Operative Hospital Care: $76.53 Extended General Anesthetic for Dental Treatment: $277.30 IV Fluids: $154.65 *optional* Blood Test: $189.63 So, overall the total for all 4 canine puppy teeth to be taken out and neutering will cost close to $1200.00 Canadian. Tobi would only be there for a few hours, so no over night stay will be required. So, I already know that this is really expensive, but I just wanted to know what your experience is with these procedures...b/c I'm feeling a little ripped off. :thumbdown |
I'm not sure about much except the nueter. My vet goes by dog size and to get my pug I remember it was around $75 dollars, $180 is just crazy! But it also depends on the age. My vet said their prices go waaay up after they are 8 months old. How old is yours? |
 Wow! That is expensive! Bella still has a few more months to go but when I got Chloe spayed this past May I was charged $265. This included spaying, a microchip implanted, bordatella shot and 2 canine teeth extracted. The vet said he didn't charge me for the teeth extractions, which was really nice of him. :D I don't know if it makes a difference in price but Chloe had went into heat once already. |
Tobi is only 2 weeks shy from 6 months.... It's a shame that this vet is soo pricey...I really like him, but can't afford to pay such inflated prices! |
$1200 for a neuter and teeth pulling??? holy crap. this should only cost you max $400 and even that is pushing it. $123 to pull a baby tooth is crazy and just plain ridiculous. It doesn't take that much effort from the vet to get the baby teeth out. I wouldn't use this vet if i were you. call around and ask what other vets are charging. |
HOLY MOLY!!!...That sounds outrageous!!..I just has one neutered Friday...he is 8 months old Blood Screening $21.00 Castration $77.50 Teeth Extraction $1.00 Total $99 .50 |
Its about $70+ to have neutered at my vets. plus they would probably charge the office visit of 25.00. i dont know how much they charge for teeth pulling. but to clean them its around $80 |
Coby had the following last Thursday: Pre-op Blood Work $49 Neutering $179 Exam $0 Anesthesia $0 Nail Trim $0 Antibiotic $0 Check Teeth $0 Microchip $55 Total $283 |
Ive never had a tooth extraction, but one of my pups was $360 to get fixed! YIKES!!! |
Wow! Thats a lot. I haven't had the teeth done but neuter and microchip was 129. Then i have to pay Home Again 25 to activate the chip. |

I'll find out tomorrow and let you know. I'm scared! |
JJ is getting spayed next week and it's gonna cost about $120 |
Are you sure he wasn't asking you to pay his BMW payment?...;) |
Murfee has an extra canine tooth. When I went to my vet to get an estimate it was almost $900....and that was for ONE tooth. I could not afford that. We have moved to a new town and I will get another estimate. |

It cost me $327.00 for spay, teeth cleaning, 1 tooth ex., toenails cliped, medcine, over nite stay, blood work up,and follow up visit I not sure what cost what. But I thought that was good and all is well |
the sad thing is, I had used that vet ever since she opened about20 years ago. Her vet practice has grown so much that we very rarely saw the same vet anymore. The problem is.....I don't know a vet that I trust. I went to the one in the small town where we live but how do I know she will know how to treat my baby. I am so scared of the anesthesia. |
Well I paid a good buck to get Izzy spayed: $428.50 and that included the Home Again Micro Chip, all the preanesthetic work, fluids, pain control, one night stay, etc. that is not including the $179.90 for her very first visit with rabies, bordetell, Revolution for 7 mos, fecal flotation, office call, etc. But thank goodness now she goes back in one year in June. But to me it was all wort h it since I love and trust our vet very much and he used the latest laser surgery on Izzy to minimize the discomfort and pain. |
We had 2 great vets when we lived in Fort Worth but now that we have moved to Waco- I am still looking. I am concerned also how they will treat my little guy....Plus, realistically, I also want to watch what they charge too... I know we are going to have to have multiple teeth removed at neuter time.... So I have been calling around. I may have to just drive back to Fort Worth...ughhhhhh |

I seriously hope it doesn't cost that much! Roxie is getting spayed and having teeth extracted one week from today...I didn't even think to ask how much it would cost. I figured the bill would be pricey but never imagined the bill could be over 1,000! |
WOWSER! Some of those prices are outrageous. I payed $119 for the spaying and since she was already under, they only charged me $10 per tooth. I also paid $25 for pre-op blood work. They even let you give payments so long as you leave checks with different dates. |
It cost me to have Deiter nutered and 9 teeth pulled and to stay over only $129.00. Which I thought was very cheap. |
Kept Chewys man cookies, but had 9 teeth pulled the boy was looking like Jaws lol, was $180.00 or so. |
