New Yorkie owner here! - YorkieTalk.com Forums

I found a Yorkie! My parents were at church this weekend and someone mentioned their friend needed to get rid of their Yorkie. My mom (being the great woman she is) told the woman I have been interested in adopting/buying one.
Well today I talked to the daddy of "Cooper" and visited the little guy. Cooper is 8 months old. My dad went with me. (Daddy is a police k9 trainer and thinks Cooper has a little Schnozer in him.) Cooper is long and tall...not your typical Yorkie but OH SO CUTE.
The unfortunate thing is I am leaving Sunday on a 7 day cruise. I won't be able to pick little Cooper up until Sept 10.

I am so excited! I think I will change his name (is that horrible) to Charleston Rhett and call him Charlie. (I lived in Charleston and loved it. Rhett, of course, is from Gone With the Wind. Very southern name, right?)

He has a beautiful color!! I like the names Cooper and Charlie. Maybe he can be Charleston Rhett Cooper.

He's got a pretty shiny coat. He looks like a yorkie to me. He probably just has that schnauzer look because of his haircut. Once your grow it out some and have more of that "teddy bear face" he'll definitely look all yorkie.

I have searched YT for info about Yorkie sizes. I've seen threads about color variation and such but no size discussions (maybe it's here and I missed it). Could y'all help me with this or point me in the right direction, please?
I am naive to all things Yorkie, but everyone has been so helpful and welcoming. Thank you!

I bet he is a Yorkie, its just that when you shave them down it looks that way..I have several pictures of Bob that look identical to Charlie....I KNOW that you cant wait to pick him up !! It will be the best thing ever..There is NO love like Yorkie love..Trust me!!
