"Chocolate" yorkies ARE recgonized by the AKC. They are liver and tan. There is no mutation in there genes. It is like one person having black hair and one having brown. Same thing.

About releasing them that early, that is a little too soon.

They cannot be shown AKC, but UKC recently approved for a close friend of mine who has been breeding chocolate yorkies for over 10 years to show them.

Of course add that to proper breeding and good home environment and you will be in love for the rest of your life.

My Tiffy is AKC registered as liver/tan as Pat mentioned, so Yapper to answer your original question, yes the chocolate yorkies do exist, and can be registered although they can't be shown.

No matter what color you go with always make sure your puppy is healthy and :luv: , do alot of research on the breeder and ask ask ask questions. Any reputable breeder will be more than happy to answer them all and help you with what will work best for your situation. Heaven knows how much I bombarded Pat with tons of emails and calls and thru it all she was more than patient and very helpful. :thumbup:
If you do get your little chocolate I hope to see pics of him here since as you know we all love to share our little furbabies with others who will appreciate them as much as we do.

I got mixed up, though. Where do I go to see the breeder or owner who has a chocolate? I did see the cutie on one of the posts. Is there another one?

Also, as for price, what is the going rate? I just want a pet. I will have the pup fixed and I won't be showing but how do you know you are getting a good, healthy little dog?

Alot of people on here would like for them not to be recgonized. But they are and thanks to my friends hard work breeding them over the past 10 years and fighting for their rights with AKC they will soon be allowed to show with AKC. THey are wonderful dogs. Slightly bigger than normal yorkies, but just as lovable.

I ma assuming why males cost more is becuase a female you can breed and make money off of them? Correct me if I am wrong.
