Help Us Please
 
Hello All My Maggie Gave Birth To 4 Babies And 1 Passed Away ( She Pulled To Hard On The Cord) But The Other Dies Cause He Can Nurse. I Bought The Bottles And Milk For Them But Now The 1 Is So Small I Dont Think I Can Get He To Suck What Now My Vet Is Not Open And It 4 Hours The Vet Er?

I have no idea what to do in this situation, but I think you need to call the ER vet right away to see if you can get some assistance over the phone.

Does your regular vet has an answering service that could page them??

Do you have a syringe?? You can syringe feed them.

Start syringe feeding, and get a hold of the ER vet.

THANKS ALL FOR THE FAST HELP I CANT GET HIM TO SWALLOW!! HE IS THE SMALLEST ONE LEFT. THE OTHER IS JUST FAT.Calling vet no thanks.

you need to do another thread in the breeder section. this way you can get the help you need.

also, if you have an eye dropper, place one drop at a time into his mouth

If he wont swallow using a syringe then use an eye dropper till he gets the hang of it and you get ahold of the ER vet. He will need to be tube fed if he wont eat on his own.

Try blowing in his little face (not too hard). I know that helps human babies automatically swallow sometimes. Please do get the baby to the vet. Keep us posted.

Drive safely hun, your doing the right thing taking him in to the ER vet.

Yeah me too she already lost 2 of the 4, so when I talked to her on the phone I told her to feed it drops of puppy milk while driving to the ER vets office. I don't want to see her lose another one. I pray he makes it to the vets and can be tube fed right away.

Gosh, did she say how far away the ER vet was? I sure hope they are able to get the baby there in time. So relieved you were here for her...I know I wouldn't have known what to do, what to tell her to do...and she's already lost 2 pups, for this I am so sorry...

i beleive she said in her first post that the ER vet is four hours away. hope not.

Her ER Vet is 4 hours away. She is going to be feeding in route to help out the puppy as much as possible. Unfortunately she wasn't prepared for emergency tube feeding and this puppy wont suck on a bottle or nurse mom. He doesn't want to swallow much of the puppy milk even when its dropped in his mouth with a dropper, so I told her to drive safely and have someone continue to try to get as much puppy milk in him as possible while heading to the ER Vet. I really hope he is okay, she has already had such a loss.

The pup made it to the vet and has been tube fed and doing ok, but the vet is keeping him overnight.

Oh I am so very thankful that she was able to get the pup to the vet...I will keep on hoping that he pulls though. Thanks Deb for the update, I have been so worried about it.

we left the puppy over nite to see if he can make it. Just left from there he is not doing good. they tried to get him to nurse from the momma but he wasnt haveing it. they retubed him and they said IF HE makes it, it will be a miracle. I have to got to go to vet daily to try to feed him from his momma. he lost so much weight. It dont look good at all.
