Thunder!!! It's pouring outside and my baby HATES the thunder... she's got her little tail in between her legs... :( It's so sad. Is your yorkie afraid of thunder? |
aww poor baby ! brownie dont care he acts like its not even there kayko looks for it lol |
The girls don't react to thunder . |
Thank goodness not one of mine is afraid. But, we are very matter of fact about it from the minute they come home.. I know dogs who are terrified and their mommy makes a fuss over it. Negative re-enforcement.. |
Zeus gets really mad and starts barking at it! It is too cute!! |
We had bad thunder and lightening and heavy downpours too, Bella ignored it, didn't seem like she even cared |
Sammi ignores it too...My mom's maltese freaks out...Poor lil guy! |
Suspicious! You would think that Sully would be afraid of thunder, but in reality he's suspicious of it. When it thunders, Sully goes to the nearest door or window and paces back and fourth, growling under his breath, in a huff, as if to say ""whoever or whatever you are out there making such noise, you better go away from my mommy or daddy or you'll have ME to deal with!" Isn't that hilarious? |
We had severe storms a couple nights ago and Jo didn't even notice. He's pretty much o.k. with anything that doesn't mess with his toys or his Mom :) |
Luig was afraid a bit during his 1st thunderstorm!!! He was more nervous!! Not quite sure what it was, but now he loves it and actually sits by the window and watches the lightning!!! He loves it now!!! It soo funny!!! |
Tyke HATES storms. He will shake terribly and pant and whine and ALWAYS has to be with someone or he'll underneath a bed or an endtable. We don't like to do that because if we have to head to the basement we want to be able to grab him. As for Bubba...if it thunders his ears will stick straight up and he'll sit there and cock his head like he's concentrating. Then after a while he gets mad and starts barking. That's my doggie :D --Melissa :aimeeyork |
My little Yorkie isn't afraid of thunder, but my 55 lb. Norwegian Elkhound cross is.......hmmmmmmm. |
We've had three earthquakes in the last couple of weeks and the dogs reacted to all of them. It was eery. They have a sense and they barked and ran around like crazy. They weren't afraid. They wanted to ptotect us. it was cute! |
We were advised to train the dogs for thunder and fireworks - so I downloaded a realistic screensaver and we ran it a few minutes every day loud whil we danced and played around on the floor as if nothing happened. Little by little the girls ignored it and started playing with us instead of looking scared. If there is one loud and sudden BANG outside the big one will still put herself against my neck/throat, but other than that they don't react to loud noises. |
I don't know if she's afraid yet, because of we haven't had a good storm, but of all the dogs I had my biggest scaredy cat was my big male pit bull. He would run for the bed,and stick his head half way under, and all you seen was his big butt sticking out. It was so funny. |
I have 1 that is scared to death of it she will shake and go hide under the sofa or bed, she is a big scardy cat though. The other 2 dont seem to mind |
It really doesnt bother Lucy, she doesnt like really heavy rain- she growls at it for having the nerve to wake her up! |
My 2 aren't afraid of thunder, but the min pin that lives downstairs barks like crazy when there is thunder. The min pin's barking drives my dogs crazy. It's like a chain reaction! |
Toto showed no sign of fear ... until we were visiting friends and it came a terrible storm ... big thunder & lightening!!! Guess what? My friend was terrified and immediately grabbed Toto saying "come here baby, Aunt ___ won't let it hurt you"!! :) We never acted anything but normal with her because we didn't want her to be afraid of storms. We had to work really hard to reassure her that it wouldn't hurt her and now, although she acts a little uneasy, we just make sure that we're available to her if she wants to curl up near us while it's storming! ;) |
I'm not sure if Olivia is too young, but she doesn't even realize anything is going on. She just keeps on playing or doing what she's doing. Thank goodness, too. My mom has a lab and I've had my share of experiences with terrified dogs. She could tell us hours before we would get a storm because she would start pacing and drooling like it's her job! |

Esme's Mommy ... Toto acts very much like a child, we figure if we remain calm, she won't be upset! :) Biddy's Mom ... :) Isn't that the truth!?! ;) |
My baby is scared to death of thunder. We have never acted upset in the least with thunderstorms, but Pippa shakes and paces-if it's at night and she's in bed with us, she runs all over the tops of our heads! The other night it thundered for 2 hours and she shook the whole time-i swear she got so warm I thought she had a fever. Needless to say, neither me or Alyssa got much sleep as we took turns just trying to comfort her. It seems there's nothing we can do, though. |

Thunder is how Tucker ended up sleeping in my bed! He was in his crate crying with each boom and I took him out and brought him to bed with me. He fell right to sleep and slept all night. That was it, he now sleeps between the two pillows! I love waking up to his puppy kisses! |
Rain??? What\'s that??? :D But no, well, my dogs are older so it doens\'t bother them anymore. |

Zack experienced his first thunderstorm 3 days ago. He seemed curious...perking his ears up each time he heard a "boom", but not anxious about it. We just played throughout the entire thunderstorm. I wanted him to know that there was nothing to be afraid of. Now my beagle is another story...he paces and pants so I give him a few drops of Bach Rescue Remedy...a homeopathic...to calm him down. Works like a dream everytime. |
