Animal Control was there the first day Maureen and Mike went their to look for ZEKE, Than Galatea came on Fri. to see what was going on and decided to use the lady from Aminal Control that Maureen and Mike talked to. The rescue groups can get dogs out if the conditions warrant, like the SPCA, they will take dogs that are in very bad shape, give a notice to get the rest cleaned up, and they come back to check. I did not say the blue Van was stolen, I said the Plates were stolen, did not match the identy to the Van. The Van was parked outside the Grandmothers Son's house where the grandchild lives. Now the Van was outside the Grandmothers house when Maureen went over to see the puppies again, she wanted to talk to the grandmother and almost got the door slamed in her face, and was told the dogs and puppies were not for sale and would all be gone. By the time Galatea and Maureen got there, they had already removed a lot of dogs, as they did not hear any barking, and when Maureen and Mike were their there were a lot of dogs making a lot of noise, Mike saw them over the fence. When the Grandmother or who ever told her Animal Control was there, as she did not answer the door. Animal Control was supposed to go back the next day, no one followed up on that one. Either Animal Control picked up all the dogs, after Maureen and Mike left, or the next day, or the Son is helping her to relocate them. We do not know. All we do know is what Maureen told us. She will be back on line to answer questions, I have a feeling something is not right as the Grandmothers dogs are no longer there. Only the two adults and puppies, and they will soon be gone. We need to find out if Animal Control took them, or if they have been relocated by the family. All we know is a lot of the dogs are missing. I have to be off line till tonight, as I can not be on line and use the airconditioner, as I blew a fuse and have not had a chance to get a new one. Kathy and Mauree will be on line to answer questions. I hope I cleared up a few things for you. I want to make it clear, the Van could be theirs the plates were the ones that did not register to the Blue Van. Jeannie

| I am sorry that Maureen and I have such different perceptions about the conditions of the animals. This was certainly a neighborhood of limited means. I grew up poor and I could tell the home needed some maintained, but that isn't uncommon when one is of limited means. I did pet the adult dogs. I honestly didn't observe them to be in any better or worse condition than Maureen's two dogs whom I also petted and held. As to animal control, according to Maureen, they were out there the first day that Maureen went to the home. They were there with the police and Maureen. They did not feel the observable conditions were such at that time that could seize anything or cite anyone. No one was home, and the officer told Maureen she would turn it over to the officer on duty the next day in hopes that someone would be home and they could see if Zeke was there. They carry portable scanners at all times. The next morning Maureen called me in tears. She told me that the head of animal control had called her and said he would not follow up on the case or go to the house because there was no case. That same day, I spoke to Officer Nickerson. He told me that it was not true that animal control was not going to the house to follow up. He said they had left 2 hours before he called me. He said that if dogs were seized, or if the owner allowed them in, they would scan dogs and if Zeke was found Maureen would be contacted. He said if Maureen was not contacted it meant that her dog was not there. Maureen was not contacted. The next day Maureen and I went to the house, and I posted what I saw and pictures of the animals. I told her earlier, that if we got to the house and she knew it was Zeke to pick up the dog and walk outside and not let it go, and I would call 911 so the dog would be out of the house, but on the property yet in our physical possession. When the Yorkie came into the house, I looked at Maureen to see if she would signal that it was Zeke. She shrugged her shoulders indicating she didn't know. We asked to hold him. They brought him over, I petted and rubbed him. She then held him and felt his private areas to see if he was neutered. When she discovered herself that he was not neutered, she looked at me and shook her head that it wasn't Zeke. At that point I asked the little boy what the dog's name was and he said, "Tahoe". That is the first time we knew the name of the dog we were viewing. When we got back in my car, away from the house, I asked Maureen if there was ANY way that any other dogs she observed earlier that week could have been Zeke OTHER than Tahoe, whom she had just held. She told me, "No". I asked her this because when she first reported to me about the puppies and adult Yorkies she saw, she told me only one had marking like Zeke and she had tried to feel for his private parts to see if it was, but couldn't under the garage door. I have never heard from Maureen that she ever went back to the house and had a door slammed in her face or asked if puppies were for sale. I had never heard from Maureen about a blue van. This is the first I have heard of any of this. Last edited by Galatea; 08-11-2007 at 02:08 PM. |

| I don't have all the answers myself. I know what I was told, by Maureen herself, I see no reason why she would lie about any of this... Maureen did you get a good look at the tags Tahoe was wearing...were they current? Was it the grandmother herself that tried to slam the door in your face, and told you the pups were not for sale and they would be gone soon? WHO OWNS THE PROPERTY/HOUSE/GARAGE/YARD??? The grandmother, or does she rent...Because if she rents...the landlord has a right to inspect his/her property, it's possible that pets are not allowed. Do you know? Maureen you do not have to answer publicly...you can pm me...any time. But please...answer.

| The grandmother owns the house. I found her through a property record search. She is not a renter and I know what she paid for it and who her lender is. I saw a tag on Tahoe. I didn't look for one on the mamma. |

| I think we have hit a dead end with the grandmothers house. If the dogs were there they have been moved somewere else, I do not believe they will bring them back there. we just have no others leads. as far as the van the tags could be stolen or they switch vechiles tags. |

My question is did Animal Control and seize all the dogs with the exception of the mother and father and puppies before you got there???? Or did the Grandmother have them all relocated, with the exception of the dogs and puppies that you both saw. I think the only way to find out is to see if Animal Control seized the dogs is to call and find out. All you asked about is ZEKE, and Cosmos was also missing. I would really like to be able to close this door. It is very frustrating to think everything is o.k. than to find out everything has changed overnight. I know Mike was the only one looking over the fence, he saw several dogs, did not count them, and said they were not in good condition, Maureen did not get to see the dogs in the yard. Maureen also told me that the dogs barking were so loud she could not tell if some were coming from the house and yard, or just the yard, as the yard is right next to the house. All that Maureen told me that when she and you arrived their was no barking heard in the yard and Garage, she found that very strange, as so many were barking when she and Mike were there. She thought that maybe because the kids were there that the dogs did not bark, knowing yorkies like I do, they will bark when anyone comes to the door. Home or not. I would think that if the dogs were in fact seized by the Animal Control, they would all be scanned in search for ZEKE and Cosmos, in the event they were relocated by the family we will never know, unless we find out from Animal Control, than we would not have to worry about where the rest of the dogs are and if one could be Zeke or Cosmos, as thy would have been scanned. But if removed by family and relocated we will never know where they are unless we follow the car or Van or Animal Control that takes the reminder of the animals. We the girl said they would all be gone, it leads me to believe that Animal Control was their and is seizing all their dogs. I hope that is the case. Could you follow up on that Galatea and see what happened, maybe Animal Control did come back in those 2 hours that were left, and will get the rest on Mon. It would be nice to know so we don't have to get someone to watch the house to see if the dogs are being relocated before Mon. Thanks, Jeannie

Why was Mike the only one to look in the backyard? If Animal Control was there why wouldn't they have looked in the backyard? I would think if the dogs were in poor condition they would have done something then.

| Good question...any answers??? My belief is that Animal Control knocked on the door and got no answer. They can not, I understand, enter some ones private property without a warrant or the permission of the property owner...They can observe what can be readily seen...but they can not legally do any more then that without a search warrant. Is this correct? Anybody?
