He could have brought in another pup for the vet exam. I hope you do a report on ripoffreport.com too. There is already one on there, but it would help to have as many as possible. You can also call the airline that shipped the pup and tell them to watch Jeff Danes pups, as he is flying them sick and you have a good idea that he is bringing well pups for the vet check and shipping sick ones. I got ripped off my a guy in FL who was shipping in pups from Brazil. All were very sick and many died. There was about 10 of us that got together and it was a LONG HAUL but he did get arrested, finally after 1 yr. The joy I felt was unreal when I had heard that he finally got arrested! I will see if I can find the article and post it.

Bronson Announces Arrest Of Puppy Seller For Swindling Consumers

TALLAHASSEE – Florida Agriculture and Consumer Services Commissioner Charles H. Bronson today announced the arrest of a South Florida puppy dealer for allegedly defrauding customers who purchased animals from him.

Charged with four counts of grand theft, a third-degree felony, and three related charges was Adams Hernandez, 33, of 941 NW 127th Pl., Miami.

He was arrested Tuesday evening by officers with Bronson’s Office of Agricultural Law Enforcement following an investigation of the suspect’s business practices that was triggered by complaints to Bronson’s office by consumers who claimed they were defrauded by Hernandez..

Authorities said the suspect operated the puppy-selling business out of his home and on an internet site - www.littletinybeauties.com - and claimed that the animals were registered, had current vaccinations and were of pedigree show potential. But he failed to provide any of the required documentation to buyers when they purchased the animals, authorities said.

Moreover, when puppies became sick and in 11 instances died, he refused to cover veterinary bills or provide refunds as required under Florida’s Pet Lemon Law.

“Evidence in the case indicates that this suspect cheated consumers, and puppies suffered needlessly, some even died, as a result of his business practices,” Bronson said.

Authorities say the puppies were sold by Hernandez for between $300 and $1,500 each, and they estimate the fraud cost consumers more than $23,000.

Following his arrest, he was taken to the Miami Dade County Jail, where bail was set at $25,000.

Bronson’s department enforces Florida’s Pet Lemon Law - a statute that imposes strict requirements on those selling dogs and cats, and affords consumers a number of safeguards in such transactions. Anyone who believes that they have been defrauded in such a transaction is encouraged to call the department’s toll-free hotline - 1 800 HELP FLA (435-7352) - and ask for the department’s Division of Animal Industry, which takes and follows up on such complaints.

See it can be done

What incredibly positive news! All states should have these laws. These people should go to jail! Pet abuse and financial fraud have caused many a broken heart and bankrupt pocketbooks!

Default Some helpful hints I wish I'd known:0(

Preventing and Detecting Fraud on Puppy Web Sites

Driven by greed, scammers have begun stealing pictures from legitimate breeders. Using these pictures, scammers set up accounts on web sites that sell a large number of puppies from a very large number of breeders. Often the pictures are stolen from Puppyfind.com, TerrificPets.com, NextDayPets.com, and other large puppy web sites. Fraud and scams are growing at an alarming rate because many buyers are unaware of the simple yet effective steps that can be taken to verify the puppy is healthy and comes from a reputable, USDA Licensed breeder.

To prevent fraud or scams from happening to you, there are some simple, yet important steps to follow before purchasing a puppy.

First, check to make sure the Seller/Breeder is who they say they are. Call them and speak with them on the phone. Make sure that their address is in the US, not a foreign country. If you can only reach them via email, do not continue the sale.

Second, make sure the seller/breeder has more than one picture of the puppy. If there is only one picture available, ask for more pictures. Specify that an object (such as a Coke can) or a piece of paper with your name on it is visible in the picture so that you know it was taken recently for you. If the seller/breeder refuses to send new pictures, no matter what excuse they give you, discontinue the sale. If the seller/breeder can offer additional pictures or specific information about the breeder and the puppy, you're probably dealing with a reputable, USDA Licensed Breeder. We will send you additional pictures after speaking to you. We don't want to send additional pictures to anyone that requests them.

Third, Ask for the breeder's USDA License number. You can verify this information with the USDA by emailing or calling them. The contact information for each region (there are 2 regions inside the US) is located here: http://www.aphis.usda.gov/ac/acorg.html. Please disable your Pop-up Blocker to use this link.

Fourth, Remember that you get what you pay for. If a puppy is listed at prices far below what reputable breeders are asking, or if the puppies are priced very low and include free shipping, you are looking at a scam. Use all of the above steps to find out if the puppy is coming from a reputable and USDA Licensed breeder.

Some breeders do not need to be registered. Hobby breeders, most often raising only several litters a year in their own home, aren't large enough to need registration. It's best that you pick up your puppy in person if you cannot get verification from the USDA that the breeder is reputable

Jeff Dane apparently got tired of living off the backs of his Yorkshire Terriers which bring him in $1,000s and $1,000s weekly, possibly even daily and relieve him of the responsibility of getting a REAL job. This puppy miller freely brags about owning many kennel breeding facilities and selling 25 or more puppies a day, with those puppies costing up to $10,000. No, that's not a typo. Jeff also breeds Yorkie mixes & recently had the bright idea of making what he calls "big bad Yorkies" by crossbreeding a Yorkshire Terrier with Rottweiler (artificially inseminated

He is all over forums with unhappy people. rottie x Yorkie mix ? Unreal ! This post was in 2005
