| It's a miracle!! He's potty trained!! Okay, I had to share this story about my Oscar--maybe someone has some ideas as to how this came about.... A few weeks ago I had to leave town for several days because of a death in my family, and my 7 mo. old, 8 lb. Oscar stayed with my friends, Angel and Al. Oscar's stayed with them before and he's buddies with their three rescue Boxers. Well, when I left, Oscar wasn't totally potty trained. He would pee on command outside and pee on piddle pads when he was gated in the bathroom, but there were the frequent oopses, and he still always pooped on the carpet. I had just come to accept that it could be up to a year before he really understood it. Anyway, when I got back home, he had been with Angel and Al for five days. They said he only had two accidents! I was amazed. They have a doggy door, and whenever one of the Boxers went outside, Oscar would follow and go potty. Well, I've had him back for two weeks now, and he hasn't had a single accident! I work the night shift, and my mom's visiting. So every morning around four or five he paws on her to wake her up so she'll let him out. The other night he didn't wake her up at all and had no accidents. He held it for nine hours!!! I do have another dog, but Oscar didn't pick up the potty training from him. Angel and Al are amazed--they said they didn't do anything special. Apparently the lightbulb came on! Just wanted to share as I am ecstatic!! |

| Kids will always behave well for anyone but their parents!!!! We tried to teach Higgins to "sit" with no luck in even getting his attention, let alone getting him to sit. So we gave up. Then a visiting friend who was playing with Higgins told him to "sit" and his little butt hit the floor so fast it was funny! And he did it every time he was told, too. Now he will do it for us, too. Every once in awhile, I think he's FINALLY housetrained and then he........... Maybe he needs to go visiting............ |
