I Need help!!!!!!!! I have a 16 week old female yorkie and she looks ugly now when she was younger she was just adorable. now the hair on her face and legs looks like it very thin. it also looks like a new coat is coming in. has this ever happened to anyone? and how long will it last? when will her beautiful coat start to come in? |
Can you post pics, please? Just a note... sometimes it can take 2 yrs before their coats finally quit changing, but we really need to see pics. :D |
Kalina is 16 weeks old and I think she is more "messy" most of the time. She just requires a lot more attention and grooming now that her coat is growing so much and since she's a little "mudpuppy" outside, playing, etc. Please post pictures so that we can see what you're talking about. :) |
my puppy's hair almost looks seperated but when i brush him he is pretty and i think i want to cute it short since he is still a baby...i dont want long hair. but i thought he had a problem but he is not itchy so i didnt think it was a bug but he is just a baby i would love him even if he was purple ..lol |

awwww - I hate hearing someone call any dog ugly - I bet she's just going thru that 'stage' they all go thru when they lose their dark puppy coat - |

Since she's so young it very well could be her hair is changing - she's got some pretty dark coloring - or it could be the photo - Can you share where you got her from ??? My girls both went thru a funny hair stage - but if I remember right it was right about 6-7 months old - |

need help I got her for a breeder out here where i live both parents were blue and gold with very beautiful long silky coats like i said when she was a little younger she was very adorable and now her hair looks like this im thinking its just an ugly puppy stage well at least im hoping it is. And as i have mentioned she is AKC so i know she is not a mix. also she is 16 weeks and just under two pound can anyone tell me an estimated adult weight for her |
You take the 12 week weight and double it so It looks like she will be less than 4 lbs |

i do hold her and do love her i just want to know if this kind of thing happens to thier puppy coat as i have never had a yorkie puppy before. i have two other yorkies but i got them when they were older |
Yes it is normal. Alot of them get white hair on their heads and it looks like they are balding. That white turns into rich tan or gold later on |
Hello there! Hello 300! How are you? I'm in Fontana too! How neat that you got a sweet lil baby! Congratulations! I have had two other pups before at this age. Their coats were very different, as well as their colors. But like somebody else posted, the pics you posted are kinda dark so its hard to tell. I'm not an expert but agree with most here about how much a yorkie's coat can change through their young lives. I don't know of any AKC breeders in our area. Did you get to see any of the other pups? Hi i got her from a breeder in san bernardino she had 8 adult breeders total i did indeed see one of her littermates the other one was a female as well but her whole puppy coat looked like it was almost completly out with a short new coat coming in |
Awwww. I dont think she is ugly at all. Give her some time. Put her in a cute little pink dress and she will be good to go. |
Well we just got her hair shave cuz she kind of looked a little funny becuase the hair on her back was really long and cuz the hair on her face was really thin with a short coat under the thinner hair she looked like a poof ball with a small head now she looks much cuter has anyone elses yorkie gone thru this hair lose like my yorkie puppy |
It sounds like she is just going thru the natural change of color. Also she may have naturally thin hair. Have u checked with the vet to see if there is a skin issue? If u are very concerned I would definitely take her to your vet. Honestly I love the light, dark, light ring she has on her muzzle. I love when they go thru the changes - almost overnight the coloring on their heads, legs and chest become more prominent. |
She is just gorgeous, and I'm sure she'll become even more beautiful as she grows! Yorkies go through stages, and she is in an "awkward" one. (I prefer awkward to the "u" word. :p ) |

I never thought my yorkies were ugly. Just funny looking when I was trying to grow their hair in. Now I groom them once a day and they look great |

It's really hard to tell from the pictures honey. What about asking the vet? I know I don't believe in worrying even though it does cost money to go to the vet. I'm the type who can drive myself crazy if I'm worried about Max. It just doesn't pay. She's certainly not ugly. She's actually very beautiful. |

I think she's adorable. My Otis went through an awkward stage with his coat and being very clumsy. I bet her coat will come in beautifully!! |
