The Poor little Yorkie was killed:cry8: Pleas read the above Link it tells how to keep the frogs out of your yard and how to Kill them. Humans can get sick too. here are two pictures of the Killers. |
That is one ugly Toad |
Gosh! you just wouldn't think it would you? thats awful! I'm not sure about the toads we get in the UK but when my Heidi was young she was always picking them up and playing with them. |
That poor pup, he must have suffered being poisoned like that....:( |
Yes You have to be careful even as a Human. My sister said that she had one on the windowsil out side her house and the poison ate the paint off! |
That's so sad. Poor pup. I am glad we don't have those ugly toads where I live. People who have them in their area better keep a watchfull eye out when their dogs are in the yard. Just something else to worry about. Your Mom must feel so bad. |
We have them, and I have to go hunting for them at night with my flashlight to catch and dispose of them. I must look a site runny around in my pj's catching frogs. |

Please be very careful. Cane toads are also Really deadly |
eeeewww! they sound disgusting! I'm pretty sure the toads in the uk are harmless.. That poor pup. |
how sad....thanks for the information. |
I found this too... If your dog comes in contact.... Immediately wash out the animal's mouth with lots of water and take the pet to a vet. In the 1960s, vets in Hawaii treated poisoned dogs with alpha- and beta-andrenergic receptor blockers and atropine sulphate; Nembutal, Metrazol and oxygen were used in one case study. |

 We have those here too. One of my furbabies encountered one about 3 years ago and we nearly lost him! They are just as deadly as they say!! |
I'm so sorry to hear about that little yorkie :( That's so sad. Thanks for the warning!! |

That poor baby!!! :( UGH - I just HATE frogs/toads!!! They are so GROSS!! :thumbdown |
I am so sorry that one of your pups was the victim of these vile frogs. Thank you so much for the info, especially here in Florida where it is apparently perdonimant. |
That's horrible. My Miko always "plays" with the frogs outside our house. That's one of his favorite things to do in the summer when we go out at night, he immediately starts looking for frogs. He barks at them and slaps at them till they leave the yard. The're not the poisonous ones though. I have to keep an eye out for those boogers!! Sorry to hear about the poor little furbaby. |

I'm so sorry to hear such sad news, My deepest sympathy for you and your mom. Your poor dog, how very sad, and you know it had to suffer, Thank you so much for posting all the important information about this frog. I wish they had a map of the united states where this frog is so common. I have heard about it all my life, live in the mounains of Colorado, and if I am not mistaken, they are also in Colo. Because of this warning, I am sure the awarness will save the lives of many dogs and cats, and make people so aware they will keep their animals in. I only let my dogs have run of the decks, as I was so afraid of a spider biting them and of course they are all poisonious, these little yorkies are so fragil to the outdoors, they really have to be watched, we have a lot of birds of pray. And not the most dangerous preditor seems to be other humans stealing them!!!!!! Daisy Mae thank you so much for all the great information, and please know how saddened I am over your loss. It breaks my heart!!!! You can be sure I will be watching mine like a hawk!!!!!!!!! Love to you and yours, Donna Jean |
Eww. Its ugly. I hate Frogs/Toads. REPTILES! lol |
awwww I'm so sorry to hear about the puppy. :( |
oh no !! They're deadly for dogs and thank God we don't have them here in Texas cause we have a ton of toads that come out at night - I freaked the first time Chanel actually touched one when we first moved into this house & called Emergency - they told me Texas doesn't have poisenous toads - but they DO emit a bitter taste that will make dogs salivate. That poor baby - your mom's people will have to be very very careful - Certain States have a big problem with them :( She may want to put warnings with every puppy sold Rest in peace little sweetheart |
The poor lil thing! I do not like toads ar frogs they are icky! I was going to do a search on the amphibians to see what we have in Ohio so I know what to look out for when I get my puppy! Thanks for posting this and making people aware of the dangers! |
